just curious to how the new/mid range markers stack up against some the older high ends, would an etek 4 be better then an ego10/11 or the reflex rails13/14 better then the dm9/10's? any help much appreciated
thanks Jay :)

Fair question. Personally, I'd go with the higher end marker as often as possible, there's a reason they are/were considered "high end".

That said, the new breed of mid range markers are all any player will ever need.

It's a bit like the difference between a Ford Focus St and a Ferrari, both are fast and good cars but I know which one I'd rather be driving ;)

The other thing to consider is how long the marker will last you. If you buy a brand spankers new mid range marker then want to upgrade, BOOM! There goes 30-50% of your initial purchase price.
If you buy a decent second hand marker and want to upgrade at a later date, you'll get a bit more of your hard-earned back.

On the flip side, can you be sure of how a second hand high end marker has been treated in its life? How much usage has it had? how many times has it fallen out of its stand and off the desk?
A new marker will be in better overall condition and have a warranty.
