at the last game i played at, my lens was hit from about a meter away, should i change my lens, or will it be okay? it is a thermal lens, and i have only used it once. there is also a small line (approx. 3mm long) on the surface of the lens, i think it is a scratch, but im not sure.

Your gogs should be able to withstand a paintball hit at any range as long as its chrono'ed under 300 fps. A scratch I wouldnt be to worried, if it were a crack I would be a bit more obliged to buy a new lens

Lenses SHOULD be changed after a close range hit like that, but I know that a lot of people don't bother.

Lenses do get scratched, nothing you can do about that, but if it is a crack then you would definitely want to change the lens, no question.

Depends on how careful/safe you want to be mate.

i think it is a scratch, is there any way to tell if it is a crack or a scratch? the manual that came with it said to replace the lens after a close range hit, is that if you are using 300fps or above?

if the outer lens did break after a hit would the inner lens stop the ball?

I reckon its a load of rubbish, been mugged loads of time at close range in the gogs, never had a problem with them. To be honest the company's wouldnt make masks that couldn't take multiple close range hits for the risk of being sue'd through some idiot testing 20 bps into his mate at point blank range

Err, I doubt it, if there was a big enough crack to expose the inner, afterall they are thinner and not designed to take an impact, also the paint would seep through the crack and make cleaning them impossible.

Replace any cracked lens, and any lens your not sure about, and bin the old one :)
