new leaques?

is it possible to set up new leaques for say under 16s i thought of the idea after finding a article on the net with someone bitching about how they wernt allowed to compete in a tournament so i was wondering if it would be possible to set up one for like under 18s/16s as io think it would be a really good way of getting kids in to paintball

I'm pretty sure all UK tounaments allow players 14 years and over - much younger and there would be insurance issues (there may be some that allow 12 years & over? Not sure on that one).
But there would also be a problem in running a tournament series specifically for junior players in that there just aren't enough of them about to make it worth doing. Even an existing, permanent tournament venue needs a minimum number of teams to make it worth while and finding say, 10 teams all made up of junior players within an easy travelling distance (remember, they will all be dependant on parents for transport) just isn't going to happen even as a one-off let alone a whole series.
If you were thinking more along the lines of a tournament with rented equipment to bring new players into tournament, this has been tried in the past (though not specifically for juniors) and though one-off events may have had some success again it isn't worth doing more than very occasionally.

King of the Hill, was designed to bring recreational paintballers and young players alike into tourney ball, low game fees and limited paint, keeps it affordable.

PB UK Kids are a young team that player this series, and alot of the King of the Hill teams have youngsters in them.

This was the main reason for NOT adopting the ramping rule at our tournament, we felt it would discourage younger players from play.

So if you have anyone 14 years or older wanting to play, book them into King of the Hill, we will nurture them into tourney ball.

I reckon little 3-man tourneys like the one at dartford in a couple of weeks are the way to go for the younger players. It's much easier for a kid to get 2 of his mates together the same age, as opposed to 4 or 6.

These types of tourney are real popular at a few of my local sites in the states. They don't need huge prizes or anything, it's more to give the younger dudes a chance to compete in a tourney enviromnent without raping their wallet or making them go home looking like a radioactive dalmation. :p
