your putting together a 3 man team.........err, well.

im not sure how many tournaments you will be able to play because 3 man is very rare. 5 man is the minimum and along with 7 man they are the most common.

but anyway, packs....depends totaly on your style and position of play. a back player whose job it is to lay down paint to keep people in will need a big pact so he can take out lots of pots.

A front player will only need about two extra pots and will want to stay light so that he/she can move faster.

It is something that you develop a sense for yourself, if you find that you are shooting lots of paint the it stands to reason that you will need a bigger pack.

also is that quote about numbers of paintballs or about white liquid producing dangley things???? could be a mis-quote

Shane's probably from the US where 3 man is probably the most common format, so don't worry Shane - you'll be fine.

As for packs - it's better to carry more than you need and then not use it. I would suggest a 4+3 pot pack as that should cover you for a long while. You'll probably only use between 2 and 4 pots in a 3 man, but if you decide to do 5/7/10 man you can then just use the extras without having to buy a new pack.

And if you get a Jacko pack with Xloops, you don't even need to have the extra loops on there if you aren't using them. You can find them at www.planeteclipse.com

Hope that helps

fair nuff, but i play 5 and 7 man and have only ever gone into my second pot once and that was against shockwave.

i play left front tape and rip through the team taking 1-5 guys a game.

back plaers shoot 7 pots and think they didnt shoot enought, go figure:confused:

Could be something to do with the fact that you wouldn't make it to your front position if your back guys weren't chucking pots & pots of paint at the other team, and you wouldn't be able to get out long enough to take out up to 5 players if we weren't doing that for most of the game, putting the opposition in & pushing them into your line of fire.
Try playing one day when your backs don't use any paint to support you when the other team aren't restricted, & see what I mean!

Shane, if you're playin' 3-mans, the game time will pretty-well limit your shooting even if you do have a player just laying out and throwing paint. He simply won't have enough time to empty his gun and reload five times. A three pack will do, after you begin playing threes you'll find that your back player is usually right up the gut with you anyhow, so you're basically going to be three front guys as opposed to two tapes and a back. Even back in '95 or '96 when they allowed full auto for that year, I still didn't see guys dumping that much paint in the three-man format. The other side of the coin is that you'll probably end up working your way up to five-man, and that's when you'll start carrying more paint. If you're thinking long-dollar, then you should take Beaker's advice of purchasing a 4+3, and, as he already said, you won't have to look for a new pack a year from now.
Best of luck.:)

By the way, I'd suggest an Extreme Rage pack over Jacko if you're in the U.S., as they're a bit easier to get a hold of over here.;)

Hey, Bud, there are a lot of quality packs out there nowadays, but my favorite is the aforementioned Extreme Rage line. If you're playing fives then the 4+3 should be adequate for you, even in the back, and the Rage packs are comfy as heck, no sliding, no slipping. Plus, if you've got a slight build, the 4+3 set-up would be good for you no matter what brand you buy. That way you don't have pods wrapping around your sides. Good luck.:)
