i would say go for i nice pro series cocker.
as there very good a and easy to up grade.
and especially now that there is a e2 trigger and there very fast.
it all depends on how much you r willing to spend.
and what type of paintball you play:

I think i'll direct you in the direction of Planet Eclipse, as I was in there yesterday looking at an amazing Pro + series cocker. It has virtually a full nexus kit internals and still only £595 and you get a voucher to upgrade to E2 board when it is released.

second hand angel LCD, ir3 or even speed or something, low maintenence and they can be fast as fcuk.
cockers can be purchased around 300 mark for mechanical however, iam running same set up as the lad with 2k3 vert feed, if it has eblade, it is a bargain, you can also upgrade the internals in due course to the e2 setup ! as for angels i have just baught an imaculate angel speed with 2 dye barrels, 1x armeson, a freak, and a 14" infinity all with spares etc etc etc for 350 quid so there are bargains out there, old angels are ok but make sure you ee em first open the breach and feel for scoring also see it firirng first, other than that they are low maintenance 
good luck you will pick up a 2001 lcd for around 250 pm gary carrot he has a dark angel with eyes on it and blade frame for 300 it is a bargain mate but be quick !
