New gun, or upgrade?

I have been playing for a little less than a year (I'm a newbie), and own a Spyder Compact 2000. Every thing about it is stock. I like the gun, and feel that I can keep up, with the exception that it is loud, as well as being a little inaccurate. I'm looking to upgrade my marker sometime soon.

Would I be better off to purchase some upgrades for the Compact 2000? What else should I get besides a new barrel if I do (regulator, expansion chamber, what else is there)?

Or, should I move up to a higher end Semi instead? If I do this, should I get a better Spyder (Xtra or TL)? A cheap Cocker? A good Piranha? JT Excellerator?

I'm hoping to limit my spending to around $200.

I'm a little overwhelmed right now, and any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Shorty,
My first marker was a Spyder TL Plus and it was a decent marker. I made the mistake of upgrading it and then losing my ass when I sold it. In order to bring your compact up to the level of a stock cocker you would have to spend quite a bit. I would probably buy a stock cocker and you can always upgrade it to whatever performance level your wallet allows.
I personally like the Tribal electro's for the money. They are light have an excellent trigger and are very affordable.

I would stay away from the Tribal until someone else picks them up as they filed chapter 13 a few months ago. In your price range look for something used but well loved. You could pick up a mag in that range-great performer and it's built like a little tank.

Cocker 99 or 00

How much could I get a 99 cocker for? And where should I look for one? We don't have a pro shop here in Fargo, and most of the internet sites only sell 2001 models. Is it a good idea to buy a cocker used? From what I hear, you can mess one up if you don't know what you're doing. Should I stay away from a used one? Thank for your help!

Follow killer's advice . You will want the HPA for a higher end gun , so when yo do up grade you will already have that taken care of.
