New anti chop bolt idea?

Don't know if this has been done before, but i was thinking that you could put a spring into a bolt in order to make it sqaush sooner than chop a ball, but the question is where to put it.

Which gave me this idea, have a (sort of) telescopic bolt

and here is design number 2, based on the telescoping being internal.

What do you guys think?? I thought these might be of use if smartparts win over all, it means ACE's are pretty much redundant.

Also, there may already be designs like this arouns if someone got to the idea before me, so please tell me if i have

I think you will find that the Cocker "Jam Bolt" was based around that idea..not that I've seen one, but there you go....I seem to remember it leading to a few gags as well...Sparklie Chic was selling them....

Have a look at this Anti-Chop Bolt . Looks like the ones you have drawn up. Drop the maker an email & get some colabaration going on!

Sent off an e-mail. I was just thinking about it and the uneccessary cost and complications that ACE's represent when compared to putting a spring and some extra bits onto a bolt!

yup been done in the jam bolt...they are also doing one for an angel i belive......the blind bolt from on the break looks good, the last couple of inces of the bolt are flexible so if a ball is in the way it bends round it!

Well, that rules out dea number 2, but number one is still pretty different, being a telescopic bolt. Gonna see if i can make one up in the tech department of college, although i don't know where to get th delrin from?
