What is the best gun for beginers? I all ready have a view loader triton 2, and played on only 1 walk on day first time and want something with a little bit more distance. I was thinking about the Spyder poilt? Shoots 20 bps, but dont know if its full auto, but I really want simi-auto to conserve on paint.

Thanks

Firstly, I doubt you will get 20bps out of any marker - unless it has some serious upgrades, decent paint and a fast loader.

Besides - it only takes one accurate shot to eliminate someone

The only real advice anyone can give is to try before you buy. See if you can have a go of someone else's marker (ION, Angel, Ego etc.) before you commit.

Get whatever feels right for you - and not what someone else tells you to get (no offence Menace).

The ION is indeed a very good introduction to tourney markers as it has all the basics - and can easily be built on.

You don't say where you are - maybe a visit to your local store or site would help.

Does the Spyder Pilot have eyes?

Some lad at a walk-on was showing me how amazin his Spyder was
All its super features and modes, shame every 15 or so paintballs he had to remove the chopped ones.

Go for the Ion mate, i've still not chopped a ball with mine :D

Hit again - you don't indicate where you live which makes a big difference to what the law is regarding semi/full auto e.g. I gather full auto is legal in the US (though I don't think all sites allow it) but it isn't legal in the UK. Just about all the modern electros can have their boards set for semi, ramping (where the gun adds shots to take you up to a certain rate of fire provided you shoot at a minimum rate) or full auto. My personal choice would be an Ion - relatively easy to change the mode depending on what you want to do on a given day, not expensive, and good enough for tournament ball at a decent level if you decide to go down that road.

One limiting factor in rate of fire is the loader you use, as a cheap loader will be lucky to feed 10-12 bps.

Range is a different issue entirely, that's more down to barrel choice and paint match as wherever you play there will be a velocity limit.

Dude...listen (read) what peopel have said mate...we dont know where you are...you could be in Outer Mongolia fo all we know, in which case, these links will be of little use to you.

As for a hopper...dont settle for less than an Egg (Viewloader Evolution 2)...best hopper is HALO or Velocity, but Egg will be fine for an Ion and more.

What kind of paintball do you play?
Are you interested in Sup AIr ball and maybe Tournament play?

O.K. I live in Florida. The kind of paintball that I am looking to play in would be tournament play, like I had said I have only played once, at my local field. That was just a walk on day. But I have played one on one with a friend. That Sup Air Ball what might that be?

Being in the US, try pbgear.com, paintballgateway.com and google for good places to buy paintball gear. Until you've played a couple more games and familiarized yourself with paintball a little bit more, you might be better off holding off on a marker for now. If you only want to play in the woods, or in scenerio/rec games, you might want a nice cammo'd out Tippmann A5 with a 18" barrel to sneak around the woods in. If you want to play tournament ball, or modern air ball (paintball a smaller field filled with inflatable obstacles, or "bunkers"), you might want an Ion, or a nice used angel or something like that. Try your local field, ask questions, and find out what it is exactly that you want out of paintball first, and then consider buying a marker after you've played a few games.
