Okay, I have enough money saved for a new marker but I'm not sure as to what I should add to my collection. Its right now a toss up with the IR3 Fly, Excaliber, or an extreme Mag. I'm curious abour the accuracy of the IR3 and the Mag, how well do they compare to the Excaliber's or any other closed bolt marker. Any suggestions are welcome.

Don't let yourself be suckered in by the "this marker is more accurate than that marker" hype.
Accuracy of a marker is determined by two main factors, paint to barrel match, and the consistency of the marker's muzzle velocity.
True, some markers are more consistent than others, but loads can be done to make markers as consistent as possible.
All the markers you mentioned are pretty good when it comes to consistency, so I suggest you go for looks and feel, in other words, get the one that looks best, and feels right.

The angel recharge rate sucks over 9 bps thus accuracy will suffer. I always felt my Angel lobbed the balls no matter what physics may dictate.
The mag suffers no shootdown, the valve has been tested at over 26 cps with no shootdown. With the level 10 you're not going to chop, efficiency is on par with the Angel.
The excalliber, never used one so can only tell you what I've read and that is very consistant (hardly suprising with the components used) Efficient and with a bolt pressure that won't chop a ball.

Hope that helps,

For my money it'd be a toss up between the Excaliber and The Extreme!

Paul.

AGD europe has the extreme on it, theres a link to it from Airgun.com

Automags.org has information on the extreme.

Obviously it wasn't set up properly then. I've shot as good as everything there is out there, and never had a problem with the Angel compared to E-mags, or whatever...

Paul, you're an E-mag slut! :D Stop slagging off every electro that ain't an E-mag. :p

Well, I have the Fly as my back up :)

After reviewing it in PGI I couldn't resist - it was simply superb and too good to give back.

As for Accuracy, I have my LP Timmy to compare, plus my old cocker and the myriad of other guns I've shot - and they really are no different. Good paint, good barrel and any difference is negligable and entirely down to the feel of the gun for you.

As for recharge over 9 bps, I've been chrono'ed at 295 on the static then during a game in the middle of a string which was easily over 9bps it was 293 - hardly shootdown IMHO.
