Well the difference will, from my small experience and knowledge as I'm pretty new to the sport too, the amount of problems you will get.
A decent hopper will jam less times, break less paint, and keep you not thinking about the hoppper for more time.
Also, if you are planning to keep it for some time, and probably installing a speedfeed, the more common a hopper is, the more chances you will find spares or upgrades for it.
If you are on a budget, a 2nd hand one can be a good idea.
