the search button is your friend...use it for masks (e-vents,profilers,grills(grillz?),proflex,I3's)

markers (ions,PMR,mini..all aimed at new players...biased to electros i know but i know squat about mechs)

air....hp/lp....and you want a fibre wrapped bottle...lighter..better

loaders/hoppers....if you can afford it got straight for halob/empire reloaderb/b2/pulse/vlocity..if not an egg.

then theres pack....only used NXe but they rock...wouldnt switch it for anything...apart from maybe an 07

and thats me done for now...oh and spares, batteries, tools, pots, etc etc

hope that makes sense

Best place to start would be your local site, go there on a customer day and see what you think to paintball.

Next if you do like it and wish to get more invovled would be to get your own kit, marker setup, clothing and Mask (very improtant) however you are looking at investing quite alot of money to get some decent kit depending where you want to go.

Option one next is local paintball walk-ons and woodball. This is generally very relaxed days just like normal punter days but with your own markers and without marshalls treating you like kids. this is the cheap option in terms on gear as you can start with a mechanical marker like a tippman maybe Co2 and a agitaor hopper.

The second route is tourament paintball. Look for a local team to take you under there wing and work your way into it.. Under this option you will most defiently need an electrionic marker, air and fast hopper all can be picked up new (probably an ion etc) or second hand on here.

do you have your own gear ?
if so post up the area your from and some of the guys on here could point out the best places to go for a walk-on, if you dont have your own gear you should put a few hundred quid aside to get the gear needed for a walk on day :) / tourney play e.g. mask, marker, hopper, air/c02, playing gear, pack, pods etc etc
there was a gear checklist posted up on here only yesterday which im sure you could use to help you :)
just my 2p :)

Getting you started

What style of paintball do you wish to start playing? If it's Sup air i'd go for a gun like an ion or a pmr, Defo an NXe pack, and a halo b rip drive. If its woodsball you like then i'd go for something like a tipmann a5 or x7 and a tactical vest.

Also theres playing gear, if your going to play sup air i'd get dye, empire or smart parts gear. If your a woodsballer get camos and a remote line.

Also find out your nearest field and see what they have to offer.

Hope this helps-James
