OK,

I am trying to get interest for the Guildford Flyers for this new PA League.

I sent to my local news paper (Surrey Ad, Richard Spiller, News Ed) a letter and a copy of the info about the last event and how local media are involved and all this.

I phoned him to try to get a little feature maybe publish results.

His response was "Look its a past time not a sport, I passed this on to the news team"

Who also have not returned any feed back to me.

So how did people get the local paper interested?
And why do people not even have the time to listen to something happening in the area which is more than they realise (despite sending a mini Media pack)

Paintball is a Sport it is just one that is not recognised by the Sports Councils for the purposes of funding or assistance:

We just E-mailed the sports editor and invited him for a game that gets their attention. Just send them some of the articles from "proper newspapers" that featured it.

How about asking Niall from Campaign for a copy of his DVD of the 2001 Campaign Cup and sending that to them, it looks really slick and it may open their eyes a bit. Or another DVD of a stadium based tournament that looks good if you have one.

won't help.......it's England mate, if it involves technology and bright colours then it's not a sport. Should stick to traditional English pastimes such as Fox hunting, badger baiting, dog buggering and cricket.
Oh and our national sport......................complaining about "foreigners".

(But not the French...that's just patriotic).

Try a proper news paper rather than an advertiser (Daily Telegraph etc.,), go to the sports and news desk (We got fobbed off by the sports desk, no reply ever from the editor but got in through the news desk) will go back and correct them after the Rugby world cup has finished.

E-mail to [reigional town]@bbc.co.uk (BBC Radio [region]) and on-line magazine. A multi pronged media attack.
