I had a problem with my reg and this is the reply from a tech off pbnation

The GA fill nipples will not function properly if they are tightened too deeply into the fill port. The strut with the o-ring must have enough room to open completely to allow unrestricted air flow during filling. The fill nipple should only be tightened enough to seal. Lightly lube the o-ring with a non-petroleum grease and snug the fill nipple into the port until 2-3 threads are still visible. This allows for sufficient strut travel to allow air flow. If you continue to have a problem contact GA tech center in Illinois for service.

But my question is what is 'non-petroleum grease' or more so can anyone tell me what in terms of the paintball world would be the correct one to use?

thanks

Dow33, Dow55, basically any lube you'd usually use for paintball. Non-petroleum basically refers to not using Vaseline, as it eats certain types of o-rings.

Anyone feel free to correct me.

Petroleum swells instead of eating doesn't it? that was what i thought happened...

oh and Dow 55 should only really be used for static orings. It swells the O-rings... Bob long encorporates this swelling into his markers design, thats why he says to use it

Well, I knew Vaseline was bad for some reason haha. Never knew that about 55 but I've never used it for it anything. Lube is lube as far as I'm concerned, but I mainly stick to mechs and pumps where oil is king.
So, MonkeyPoo, Sl33k, whatever you'd usually use?

Mech's and pumps :D in the UK i'm delighted to hear it :D

I have and use a big tube of sl33k for static O-rings, and oil for moving orings...

generally i mix and match, i will either use oil for all, or sleek for all, but i think it makes sense to use the liquid one on the thing that should move, and the thick one on the thing that should seal...

More fun and cheaper. Well alright, cheaper is a lie. =P

Used to use sl33k on cocker pneus all the time, can't even remember who told me to. I managed to lose it somewhere a while ago and have had no trouble just using oil. I think anything is fine with regular cleaning. Especially when I'm using 500-1000 balls a day instead of 2000-4000. =D
