Myth 2 reg not holding air Dumps through the fill nipple

I have a myth 2 reg with a myth micro fill nipple. The fill nipple keeps dumping air i have another one on order but can i replace it with a another one i.e CP fill nipple or does it have to be a myth one.

Having issues with the self seal one might just swop it for a non self seal one

this seems to be a common problem, a couple of my team had exactly the same happen to brand new bottles

we took them back to LIPS and they explained that they are made in a factory very close to the coast and sometimes tiny grains of sand get into the fill nipple sticking the small seal open when you fill them, therefore dumping all the air back out

you don't need to get a new one in most cases, just take it appart and clean the sand out

Funny that mine was from lips maybe they had a bad batch. Ill wait and see what the next fill nipple does otherwise im stuck if you cant change them

I had the same problem with mine (brand new) and it was repaired twice and the problem repeated itself. there is a fault with the fill nipples apparently. It was replaced with another fill nipple in the end. at the suppliers expense as i needed the bottle back.

ask for a replacement fill nipple, they are expensive bottles, they should work. luckily i have a good supplier who sorted it out for me. I'm sure LIPS will do the same.

edit: mine wasn't from lips, it would sem there is a bad batch from the factory. I also know that mine wasn't the only one my supplier had problems with.

i'm pretty sure that all the fill nipples are all stock on my team's, john at LIPS just took them apart and cleaned them out but it might not have worked for all of them

worth a go though, might save you a bit of money

Yeah lips are good just waiting on some different orings or something from the states but just incase it doesnt work wanna find out if i can put a non myth fill nipple on. Ive borrow a G1 myth reg and that doesnt have the stock fill nipple so was woundering if it can be changed on a g2

yes buddy, it's just a standard threading

the bob long fill nipples from LIPS are the best in my oppinion, they come with a threaded cover and a built in filter to stop it happening again

Ill have a look into them maybe. Ill wait and see what happens with the micro ones 1st. Be a shame if i cant get it sorted.

I think you might find that if it has flashed filled it has probably popped the white oring inside.

I have known this on a couple of bottle owned by me and another owned by Hyperlite..

In both cases though it was on Myth 1 Regs..

Easy to strip and find out or just return to the Lips guys if your not confident in stripping it down to sort..

Yeah seems that its a very recognised problem with GA fill nipples.
