Do not quote me but I think I remember Nicky T posting something on the nation about issues like this if you do not fully tighten the rammer cap. i.e. if it is loose then the rammer can break.

Since releasing the SL94 marker earlier this year we have seen a small number of customers experience issues with their rammers snapping. Initially we believed that the sole cause of this was due to a fault in the metal that they were machined from, but have now revised that opinion since receive back SL94’s from two separate customers that have broken two rammers apiece.

Both of the markers that came back had their rammer caps screwed into the body loosely; finger tight if you like. When they are insufficiently tightened like this, the rammer and the bolt move further back in the body and this causes the bolt pin to hit the back of the pin slot and consequently “stretches” the head of the rammer; eventually causing it to snap if the marker is repeatedly fired in this condition.

As a result we have revised the design of the rammer so that there is now a greater margin for error with regard to the position of the rammer cap. We have already issued a small quantity of these revised rammers to our beta testers and the initial feedback is that they are working extremely well. We currently do not have any more of the revised rammers available but anticipate that they will be in stock in early September; we will of course let you know as soon as they are available.

Until the revised Rammers are available, we suggest that you inform all SL94 owners to follow these guidelines to ensure that their marker performs at its peak:
- Remove the #011 NBR 70 o-ring on the threads of the Rammer Cap and stretch a #009 NBR 70 o-ring over the rammer cap so that the cap will screw in further.
- Tighten the rammer cap ALL the way in, using the correct sized hex key.
- Lower the LPR output pressure by turning the LPR adjuster screw 1 ½-2 turns in from flush.

By following the above guidelines it will dramatically increase the longevity of the Standard SL94 rammer, and in most cases will prevent any possible failure.
*** PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE FIRST POST BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS THAT ARE ALREADY ANSWERED IN IT :D ***

All SL94 Owners who have registered their marker either by completing and returning the Warranty card provided in the manual, or by completing and submitting the online Warranty registration form here: http://www.planeteclipse.com/site/warranty-registration.asp will AUTOMATICALLY be sent out the Zick Z2 Rammer and the Ego9/SL94 Solenoid "Plank Kit" upgrades, COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE, as soon as they become available.

The Zick Z2 Rammer is EXACTLY the same Rammer that is included in the Zick2 Kit.

The Solenoid "Plank Kit" is the drop in solution that will replace the Solenoid "Turrets" that we have actively been testing, and as such can be installed into the solenoid assembly in a matter of seconds and fitted to the marker without the need to modify the body at all.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- This upgrade is ONLY valid for customers who have purchased the SL94 and consequently registered their purchased product for warranty purposes.

- No upgrades will be sent out to Stores that have SL94's in stock, as the marker must be deemed "sold" and consequently registered for warranty before an upgrade kit can be assigned to it.

- No upgrades will be available at any events, as they will all be mailed out from our UK office.

- If you would like to check on the warranty status of your SL94 marker then please email me on: nick.t@planeteclipse.com

- Upgrade Kits are expected to start shipping no later than the week beginning 28 September 2009.

Details of how Ego9 Owners can claim their Solenoid "Plank Kits" will be released shortly - but if you want to get to the front of the queue REGISTER your marker here: http://www.planeteclipse.com/site/warranty-registration.asp now :D
Have you registered your marker ? If not , do it now, then send Nicky an email.
