Hi learning the ropes
At what psi do most sites fill air takes up at?
Or would it run at 3000psi?
If a site fills up at 3000psi will a 4500psi tank work ?

Sorry for sounding like a complete prat for asking
Thanks in advance

John

Most sites are 3000psi.
If you have a 4500psi tank 3000psi will work but only to roughly 3000psi.
BUT If you have 3000psi tank 4500 psi WILL NOT work!
Thanks, Chazum!:)

you can fill a 4500psi tank with 3000psi, but it will only fill to 3k on your tank - but that's not particularly a problem if you have access to use it regularly

It's when you fill a 3000psi tank at a 4500psi station when things can get interesting...

EDIT: Damn it chazum! :(

That's for the info gents

I realise trying to fill a 3000psi tank with 4500psi could be a very bad idea hahaha
So next question would be which one would you recommend?
Cheers

Well once you chose between HP and LP (high and low pressure), you then have to decide what size tank you want.

You have the two to choose from, a 68cu (1.1litre tank), or a 48cu (0.8litre). Now i don't need to explain the physical difference, one is bigger than the other, and accordingly weighs a little bit more. The size can be down to personal preference. Children and people trying to minimise their weight / size of their gat will usually go for a 48cu just because it's smaller, so more comfortable to get a good stance with. Most however generally go for a 68cu, just because the difference isn't a huge amount, and it means you'll be refilling less between games.

If you're playing something like a big game, most will prefer to have a larger tank, purely because having to refill means another death for the team, and for players who are playing race2/3 format, just because it can save them having to spend time refilling their tank

As for the tanks themselves, you'll need to look at what the tank is made of. I'd advise going for a carbon wrap tank, just because they're so much lighter.
Guerilla Air seem to be making quite a name for themselves, very light and reliable tanks! :)
Just don't get a steel tank, those things weigh a ton!

A 4500psi fibre cylinder is the most flexible, however moneywise a 3000psi aluminium is the most effective.

Pay about £150 for a fibre cylinder, or about £40 for an aluminium. Both types cannot be used after 5 years from manufacture until retested. With an aluminium it can be more viable to buy new every 5 years, and this still works out cheaper than a fibre.

There are many benefits of a fibre cylinder though, with a higher pressure capacity when available and a greater reange of sizes to meet your specific needs.

Hmm don't you wish there was a warning or something to let you know someone had already posted :p
