OK all had a bit of a lively debate the other night about what a site needs to be the best? For both rec ball and tourney ball.

some were saying paint price's some were saying field set-up.

So what would make the perfect site guy's???

1. a limit on how many people are there each day because huge groups of like 60 or 70 is too many for playing and having to marshall

2. a site that uses air, this is cheaper for the site in the long run if they get a compressor and also its easier for walk ons and punters with their own guns, not having to use CO2 or bring a scuba tank

3. good prices obviously but people have to remember that paint sales pay for most things like the gas paying off the cdost of building the place and wages, but still £6-£7 a hundred is still a bit steep

4. at least 5 different fields then an airball field or 2 as they could be used as team training fields or could also be used as extra main fields

5. holding maybe 1 walkon day a month or/and a tourny for people who are looking at getting into the sport

5 and finally a mini shop that sells a selection of some gear like masks, gloves, pants, hoppers and a few markers like the diablo wrath, ions and a few jt's with 1 or 2 of the top range guns

probably think of other stuff later :p

Paint sites make money from shiney happy Gleaming punters so a large site with plenty to do and and plenty of Centrepiece or obstacles, call it what you will - although site owners have been penalised for not encouraging the more serious baller by setting up areas where "own gunners" can set up markers, supply air and provide games for these kind of players.

The only other issue with this is Site owners are reluctant to reduce their paint prices to a reasonable amount, afterall £100 a box of Gaff paintjus isn;t cricket is it (for your punter the small amounts they shoot their day still works out relateivley reasonable) but for an own gunner who has a Higher end marker will tend to shoot alot more paint which will line the owners pockets anyhow.

WDP run a site at Bassetts pole which has addressed this problem and run "Sup air sunday" which helps bring woodland player out and onto i suppose a tournament like feel and the paint prices are a little more reasonable too

that's what our main argument was the site need's good prop's for recball and a few sup'air/speed ball field's to get peep's into tourney. my idea was to have a helicopter like in black hawk down !!! :D

Paint need's to be a good price for punters and be able to BYO if you have your own gear. with a tourney/walk-on every month as well.

Plus topless stripper marshals i would be calling for a paint check all the time "o o check me marshal i think my groin is hit" :D

on our walk ons (paintball alexandria every 3rd sunday of the month) we encourage peeps to buy thier own gear buy selling paint at £6 =100 to people who need kit and they dont pay a game fee ,and its bring your own to peeps that dont need kit and they pay a 1 off £20 game fee so people with thier own kit pay less ,the own gunners also get the chane to buy boxes at the site from £30_£40 depending on brand

yep I think NPF's pretty good:
huuge site
good gear&kit shop
permanent clean toilets ie not 3 permanent portaloos )^^(
good food/right next to McDonalds/good Pub serves food&drink
pretty good staging area
good themed areas like wild west village, trenches etc
initiatives to get Recballers into tourney ball: Sup' Air Sunday
reasonably priced, and cheaper than some of the rec sites i started out on
