hey man, the 9v halo mod won't make your batterys last any longer, that's just myth started by the guys who try to sell them. The mod didn't even work in my Empire B with Shocktech drive cone.

The reason why you ask...The typical 9 volt has 500 mAh and the typical AA has 2000 mAh. And before you start off but we're putting 2 9 volts in remember you are replacing 6 AA's.
In short the AA's were put in there for a reason. The loader needs the current ratings of the AA's to make the motor turn at a constant rate.

When I would shoot, the drive cone would spin, but not enough. So every once in a while I would have to turn the rip drive to completely fill my feedneck. Wasn't happy. I spent more on different brands of batteries and trying to get the mod to work than the actual mod it's self.

I take it you got the board OK then ;)

Notes on zCode are here (read them!)
http://www.odysseypaintball.com/zcode.html

Check that you have plugged the board up correctly. The harness leads need to be the right way up and going to the right set of pins. Compare what you've got against the photocopy I stapled to the packing slip.

Next, it sounds like your batteries are on their way out. Use the stock 6xAA setup, and use fresh non-rechargable batteries.

To solve the Red/Green lights mystery:
Flashing red/green lights means EITHER
- the board has detected a jam (the hopper will spin three times, then stop and give you red/green)

- the board has detected low current (low battery)
