Talking with a mate tonight, we both agree that most DVD's are not very good or you don't get your money's worth

Most DVD’s are full of crap or they only half fill the disc, most DVD’s hold 3 hours at lest.

Take NPPL HB, yes you sore some great game but the disc was about an hour long. What happened to all the other teams that play at HB.

I think we should campaign for the makers of these DVD’s to start putting more game on these discs.

What do you lot think

STC last year is a really good DVD. All games from all divisions and altough not of quality like toulouse a better DVD IMHO.
It's real good. however i think you point is valid to the extreme jinxy. most of them are about lifestyle with not enough games on them :(

I like the lifestyle bits as well as games. I would like to see more technical stuff on the discs like new products being put through their paces. The costs could be brought down by getting the manufacturers of the products to cover the cost of their bits because it would be like a commercial. And why do we have to have such loud music on these discs? I dont mind the style of music just turn it down so I can hear the players calls/reactions to add to the game atmosphere.

pleeeease, no "this is the new gun from whoever" stuff on a dvd, just read the ads in the mags or visit the sites of the companies. what i like to see is 70% games, 10% interviews, 20% life style(like a report from the players party in sweden*G*)

Totally agree.. £25 for a 60 min DVD... NIGHTMARE.

Speaking of that I ordered the NPPL HB DVD 4 weeks ago and no sign of it yet.. and my emails are being ignored.. THey seemed a lot keener to take the cash out of my account than they are to deliver the goods :(

Beyond the 50 is a great disk as far as play time coverage. I liked the format they used for some of the games with a little field map graphic showing players and eliminations, too.

I completely agree with the loud music thing! God that stuff detracts. I know most probably love it, but on aDVD you could surely turn it off, like subtitles? The best part on Bt50 is when games go long enough to outlast the stupid "My Testies are on Fire" soundtrack. I usually just tune that stuff out, but when you actually hear the players talking, it adds something to the coverage.

Also, it would be great to have good sound recording equipment to catch the sounds of balls whizzing by and drumming on bunkers in the camera's focus. It is so soothing, like rain on a tin roof...

Traumahead does a great job, too. All DVDs I've seen could go longer, but priority should definitely be on games.

I think you should reduce the size of your sig pic--perhaps cut off that Halloween freak on the end. ;) :D
Oh, and about that DVD biz--I like the sound of 'Beyond the 50' (and, no, I don't mean it's music.) Otherwise, you're all correct. Too short mostly, need more games, less crap. Way too much of alot of the DVD's and videos offered are like watching somebody else's home movies.

Apart from STC, which I thought was excellent (apart from we weren't on it!), PUSH is about the best you can get. Not the VHS, just the DVD. About 10 games in the extras alone makes it worthwhile.

Anyone seen Sunday Drivers yet? Is it any kop?
