I'm looking to buy a Mini but can't decide whether to buy brand new or 2nd hand, if i buy second hand it would mean I could afford to upgrade the board but is it worth it? how much better is the virtue board?

Theres only so much polishing a turd you can do. Not saying the mini is a turd, far from it, but sticking a virtue board in it aint gonna make it magically turn into something amazing. Plus the standard boards are really good, I have had an Axe with the shockwave board and once thought about sticking the redline board to it. £100 board that just does the same thing but has a few extra options to it just didnt seem worth it.
If it was me, If youre set on a mini, I'd save my money on the board and spend it on better paint and theres a few good bolts around that can improve it in a few areas. Theres some really good second hand markers around, if you have a budget, look around and you can usually find something that was like a £1000 a few years back down in your price range. I have bought a second hand marker off here for half the price it was when new last year.
Ask questions about markers and people will respond on here and give there honest opinions. But you could do with having a go of a few to get the feel, and markers do feel and sit different with people.

Mini will cost you £120ish. Another £80 -£100 for the board isn't worth the effort - I'd club the funds together and buy a new board - any board that gets the gun to shoot 10.5 mills ramping is fine; an upgraded board is useful for some situations, but a better marker in the first place is the better investment.

Thanks for the input guys, Ive had a go with an Axe and a Mini and liked both of them Ive currently got a Spyder e99 which was an impulse buy with little to no research I've used it 3 or 4 times but I should have a little spare cash from my annual bonus so I want to upgrade.
