Hi all

Just wanted to say hello, ive been brousing the forums for a while but never registered an account, however im here now. I am going to be playing at Sabotage alot here in MK but want to branch out to Birmingham and am going to book tuesday and wednesday off work soon and goto Tower Paintball in London for a walkon.

A couple of questions now im here,

1. Can a 4500 psi HPA tank be filled with 3000 psi, obviously you cant fill a 3000 psi tank with 4500 psi. Im unsure as to buy a 3000 or 4500 since my local site only fills 3000 but i know some places can fill 4500 like my local dive centre.

2. Anyone in the MK area want to meetup and paintball ill be more than happy to come along.

3. I am buying a Smart Parts Epiphany, the reviews i have read all seem great and since it is similar to an Ion it will be fine for my grip style since an Ion is the only un ive used. However do any of you have any personal experience with this gun?

First, welcome to the forums mate, you'll find us a pretty friendly bunch. I'm in MK as well and have played at sabotage a fair bit myself (playing in a team now though so I don't get down there as much as I used to)

In answer to your first question, yes no problem, if the tank is rated to 4500psi so filling it with only 3000 isn't going to be a problem, you'll just get fewer shots per tank. that said unless you're first at the tank I usually find that the air at Sab runs around 2000-2500psi so I usualy take one of my scuba tanks to top bottle up to 3000-ish.

I'd be tempted to skip the epiphany (though there's nothing wrong with it) if you're buying it new and take a look on the classified forums to see what else you can get for your money, you may find that you can buy an older but superior marker for the same amount.

The main reason im thinking of going for the Epiphany is due to the price, a friend in Ohio, USA has sourced me a new one from a paintball retailer out there for $200 so thats £100 plus £20 shipping cost, thats cheaper than an Ion XE! However with that said untill ive got the money to buy the marker i will keep a keen eye on the sales section of the boards.

Are scuba tanks a worthy investment? I can imagine there quite a large ammount to buy, i have emailed MK Dive centre but not yet recived a reply.

A new scuba tank and fill rig will probably run to around £150 they sometimes pop up on here for under £100, ideally you're looking at a 12litre 232bar (3000psi give or take).

I would be wary of buying from the states as it may be difficult to get any work done under warranty if it's bought outside the UK. not to mention that it's not $2 to the £ anymmore so will be a bit more than £100. You could also get some hassle off HR customs when it comes into the country.

Scuba tank option looks good sofar, £150 drop is fine to know ill always have air and i can get the tank filled at mk dive centre.

Im now looking at an EOS in the sell section, i would rather not ship in a marker agreed but its the qulity/cost im looking for as a first marker, it will only be used for 6months +/- before i look at spending real money when i know im sticking with the sport.

£200 -/+ good for a used EOS with good hopper? Reviews all seem really good and better than Epiphany.

can't comment on the eos as I've never used one.

I've had Ion's, old Angel, Dye Matrixes and an etek.

what hopper ?
