For those Nations X-ball captains who read this forum before you read your e-mail. Here is what I sent to all teams:
_____________________________

Dear Nations X-ball captains, et.al.,

I’ll stick my neck out and say that you are hereby not required to purchase the BK jerseys. I don’t think it is fair that you be required to purchase any jersey you don’t want, expecially in light of our failure to communicate properly about this issue. Therefore I will personally assume responsibility, up to the limit of my total fee for my job, for the bottom-line cost of any jerseys in perfect condition that have been printed but not yet purchased by any team, and for any jerseys that have been purchased but not yet worn. This assumes that the rights to sell them at any price I want is transferred to me.

Concerning entry fees: ALL teams are required to have their entry fees for Millennium X-ball by the end of registration day at the next (Maxs Masters) tournament. Complete payment or documented, hard-copy proof of payment is all that will be acceptable. No exceptions. Unpaid teams by the beginning of the overall tournament in Germany will be removed from the Nations X-ball team list.

Concerning the scheduling in of the two lost games in Portugal, we are hoping we can move an extra evening of X-ball into the Toulouse tournament. Will the affected teams please give me your feedback?

I have already taken measures to make sure that the next set of X-ball games in Germany are top quality all round. I would appreciate any suggestions you may have in that regard.

Cheers,

Steve

Good job Steve...

... people have been hard on the series - and called for something to be done - and now it has.

3000 euros as promised - okay X-Ballers time to shut our traps.

Now the only thing I want is a guarantee from the organizers that there will be no "extra expenses invoice" to the teams come september??

Can you guarantee that Steve?

goose

P.S. Nice to see someone at least trying to do something

Chris,

You know, probably better than me, that I can't guarantee anything. Anything is possible in our PB world. I can only say that I can't fathom any possible need for any more money being requested from the teams. It wouldn't fly anyway.

Laters,

Steve

Ya know it amazes me how a supposedly professional body of promoters creates a situation whereby they completely butt-f##k the teams and then allow one of their employees to get them out the shlt by buying up all the jerseys the teams never wanted in the first place.
What does this say about the board ?

Professional ?
Bullsh#t !

Steve, I would think very carefully before putting your hand so deeply into your own pockets just to save face !!!

Pete,

I recognize that you know more of the behind-the-scenes stuff than anyone else. You know that it isn't just a matter of me saving my face. I just want to get this problem solved NOW so we can all move on to bigger and better things.

The Millennium board didn't ALLOW me to buy up the jerseys. I just offered to do it of my own volition. Besides, I might end up making a shift-load of money out it.:p

Steve, as you well know you have been placed in an invidious position by the board in defending an indefensible situation.
My point was this, how can any professional board stand by and allow you to take the hit.
If they had any bollocks or self respect they would take that jersey liability off of you immediately as it was all their doing and not yours.
You should not pay for their mistakes whether you elect to or not !!!!

Hmmm?
Don't dig too deeply. It's just that what's right is what's right. It is a small role I've been given but there seems to be a lot of passion around what I'm responsible for. Since the responsibility always comes back to me, and as the public face here, I must do whatever I am capable of doing. It'll all work out.
