Dear Teams,

It is one of the aims of the Millennium Series to provide all its sponsors the best possible exposure and it also our wish that companies who have not shown the same level of support to the series as the official sponsors do not receive any exposure or any right to trade at the Millennium Tournaments.

We have decided that the only paintballs to be used at Millennium tournaments are those that are supplied by Official Millennium Sponsors

Any other paint manufacturers that are not official sponsors of the Millennium Series cannot sell or give the the paint before or during each tournament. This included selling “Off Site”.

Teams who break this rule will be expelled from the tournament where the infraction occurs.

Alvaro Mesquita
(Millennium Series sponsor coordinator)

List of Official Millennium Sponsors:
- RPS
- DIABLO
- ZAP
- TOMAHAWK
- SEVERE
- NELSON- SPORT ATTITUDE
- JT USA
- WDP
- WGP
- KINGMAN-RAVEN
- SERID
- NATIONAL PAINTBALL SUPPLY
- ADRENALINE GAMES
- SMART PARTS

A question

Whilst I understand tha Millennium Series not wanting non-sponsors to sell their paint on or around site, do you not think that not allowing teams to play unless they purchase paint from one of your sponsors sets a worrying precedent?

After all, why keep it to paint? If Airgun Designs doesn't support tha Millennium, then why let teams use Automags?

See where I'm going with this?

I'm not playing devil's avocado here, it's a serious question...

peace

Very good point TJ. I can remember back to the days when Mayhem was RPS paint only, & you'd get the weird situation when teams fully sponsored by another paint company would have to play with RPS all weekend. The presentation speeches would be quite funny sometimes!:D
I should point out that I have no axe to grind here, as I'm only playing one Millennium this year & my paint, marker & all other kit are made by 3 of the main sponsors anyway.

Greed?? I don't think so.

Please put yourselves into the mind set of a major sponsor. They realise the kudos of association with us the millennium series, and support the series accordingly. This costs them money.

Then some idiot sets up shop in the car park capitalising on the series itself, undercutting the major sponsors and upsetting the whole fragile balance. The sponsors get mightily pissed and say sod this whats is the point. Then Its a simple equation. No sponsors = No Millennium Series.

Now every major paint Brand in Europe is a sponsor.(Alvaro has listed them all), So nothing will change as far as you are all concerned.

What we are trying to do is look after those that support us. If there is a new paint supplier on the scene he is welcome to join the party, but it must be on our terms not his.

Exactly Liz

It's a retrograde step dudes...and look at potential future scenarios...

Company A has a lean year, or decides to refocus its marketing, and wants to pull out of Millennium sponsorship for a season - what happens to the 30+ sponsored teams shooting Paint A?

Or maybe a new paint company opens in Eastern europe, sells to a few fields, sponsors a few local fields but can't afford to sponsor the Millennnium, so its teams can't play. That just restricts growth at every l;evel.

I can understand tha Millennium dudes getting pissed if someone is selling paint from a car outside of their event, but the way they seem to be going about this problem is not good...

Someone from tha Millennium reassure lil ol' moi, pur-leese.

peace

TJ, We can make assumtions about the future and they will always be assumptions. Simply the Millennium is the best vehicle for the industry to flogs its wares..(Along with PGI of course). Now the sport grows and everyone wants to grow with it.

If things change, and recession bites we may well have to look at things in a different light, THere is no indication of this at all, the sport continues to grow at an alarming rate. We are looking 130+ teams at Campaign Cup! So we deal with now and the foreseeable future.

Truthfully if it was not for the support of the sponsors there would be no Millennium Series so we have to look after them.

Please be assured.
