So, is Paris going to be semi only?

I know what the rules say, I know what was allowed at Max and DMA. But what is the score for the next round?

Please, no speculation cos that's been done to death. Just want to know what the offical story is...

... If I walk onto the field with a gun that ramps like a mutha hubbard will I be able to use it yes or no? :) :) :)

Nothinbg has been put in writing by the MS as of yet.

According to what was said at the Captains meeting at the DMA, you can ramp all you want, as long as it does not fire shots after trigger release.

- That is assuming they have not changed their minds since the DMA - which nobody really knows.....

i think that nick is interpreting what laurent said how he wants to hear it, my interpretation of his statement was that ramping would not be allowed because of the questionable legality of it in some european countries, maybe cos thats how i want to hear it. i would suggest that you e.mail the millenium bods and ask for some clarification because i genuinely think that it will not be allowed.

That's called full auto, not ramping.

Actually....

....I asked TWICE at the meeting if it was correct they meant "release" - and pointed out that ramping would be possible with a rule worded like that, as opposed to wording the rule using the word "pull".... and in both instances Laurent confirmed the wording and that ramping would be allowed, if no shots were fired after last trigger release.... so unless the language barrier is to blame, I really do NOT think I am wrong here.

As for it being FA.... well... some say ALL ramping is FA... but if that is not your position, and you mean this opens the door to "true FA" - then you neglect the fact that all the current MS rules for testing guns pre-game will still be in effect... the runaway trigger test has just be changed to ALSO say "no shots after last trigger release".

- At least, that was how I understood it.

I do NOT have any official information, and only go by what was explained in Amsterdam.

Can we get an official word from the Millennium staff? this issue is playing with everyones nerves.

A official press release with the exact firing mode, will certainly clear things for everybody.

So instead of sending all these promotional newsletters they should sit down decide and release what mode will be used in 2 weeks.

The time is coming

No matter what Millenium does, it's going to be wrong. They can't say non-semi without invoking the wrath of the government, and they can't say semi and have anyone take them seriously.

Just accept that there's going to be ramping, you should use ramping, and in case Millenium gets a little crazy and actually decides to try and enforce semi-auto, you should make sure your ramping is easily disabled and pass-sequence protected so you're not one of he handful of suckers sacrificed for the sake of looking like the league is semii-auto only.

Millenium not saying anything definite may suck, but I just can't see how coming down officially and clearly one way or the other really helps them - it just gives them another set of problems that are probably worse.

Thats what I'm worried about - Being one of the unlucky few who's made an example of or taking the semi-only route and being at a marked disadvantage.

I hear ya but they've gotta have a well defined set of rules and enforce them otherwise if we choose to ignore/work around this one why can't we ignore the one about 7 players to a team and all turn up with 25? Stupid example but the principle's the same :)
