calling all eurorefs! or anyone that might have a clue for that matter :)

looking for a bit of clarification of what is meant to happen when a player is eliminated but then shoots back at his opponent although he was hit first? i suppose i'm typically talking about a bunkering move but it's clear who was hit first and who continued to shoot.

the rules give firstly that:
26. A player is eliminated if a paintball, discharged from a paintball marker by a live player,
strikes that player or anything he is wearing or carrying and such paintball breaks and
leaves a mark, regardless of the size.

If a player is hit and marked by a paintball shot by an eliminated member of the
opposing team, such player is not eliminated.
however if you consider the penalty system which says that:

37.04 Assessment of the two-for-one rule...
- Playing on that materially influences the course of the game giving the offending
player’s team a significant advantage
so my question is, should the result be that the 'offended' player be left in and the 'offender' eliminated and assessed a 1for1 for playing on or remove both players and assess a 2for1 for materially influencing the game?

In the example you have given its a 1 for 1. Asumedly as the player who isn't in the wrong is wiped down and therefor there is no influence on the game.

2 for 1s only seem to be assessed for "game changing moves" winning a 1 on 1 with a shot on you for instance. So as long as the reff sees who shot who first it's just a 1 for 1.

Tge question seems a bit pedantic though, there hasn't been an official rule book for years so quoting snippets like this is a little pointless

if it is clear to the ref who was hit first then the other player is wiped down and a 141 enforced
if its not clear then both players are eliminated 'trade out'

from a refs point of view it is IMPOSSIBLE if you are stood close to either player to look at both of them and assess who got hit first, the only way its ever going to happen is if 2 refs are watching a player each and the ultimate or a 3rd ref is stood back enough to be able to see either both players and/or the reactions of both refs......any player who expects a single ref to decide who is hit first in 99% of muggings is i am afraid day dreaming. the best you can hope for is both out. As there is no angle a single ref can stand at in order to see the correct side of both players at the same time, if the defender is facing away from the attacker and is shot in the back then no problem, the advantage is with the attacker. if how ever the defender is facing the attacker and both players have paint on the their FRONT then its going to be a trade out.

There's a reason its called "Trading out". If its blatantly obvious, player spinning etc. wipe down and 141.

that's a better way of explaining it, cheers! i'm well aware of simply trading out when you can't tell the difference but in the example porkington just gave that's what i was wondering!

This seems as good a place as any to ask ,does nayone know where an up to date set of Millenium rules ie 2012 can be found? Their website has 2006 and the latest changes ,but not an up to date one. Usually there is someone out there who knows where these are hidden . Would much appreciate as the team are planning to do Div 3 and knowing the rules certainly helps Thanks in advance

:ROFLMAO: oh boy that cheered my Saturday morning up. No offence meant, but for the last 3 years we have been promised an imminent update but it has never materialised!
