These amendments were taken from the millennium website and i wanna know exactly what they mean.

You are not allowed to play with jerseys with padding sewn into the shoulders and only a
single layer of padding is allowed on the elbow.

Does this mean that elbow and FOREARM pads are OK?

Rule on “player damages barricade on purpose” will be deleted.

And this 1 i just want to know what this allows us to actually do?

Let us know.

No if the jersey has padding on elbow already

and

Last year there was a rule that if you slid into a bunker and a peg came out you were "damaging the barricade" and you got pulled. Was a real harsh rule and wasn't enforced consistantly. So they've dropped it. i.e. if you slide into a bunker accidentally and a peg comes out you wont get pulled now.

Do my aging eyes/memory deceive me or I saw Niall comfirm the usability of the 2003 DYE jersey in an earlier post.

And that one has shoulder padding.

If he did it's in contradiction to what's on the Millennium series website

And I guess all the Dye shirt wearing people (if it is allowed) won't be wearing elbow OR forearm pads underneath them then?

Taken from Niall's post a while ago:

Dye Shirts & The Millennium Series
Rule Clarification.

The Millennium Series HAS NOT banned Dye Jerseys.

We have always worked closely with the NPPL on the development of the rules.
When a new rule appeared this year Stateside regarding excessive padding, we accepted the rule into the Millennium Rulebook.

Members of the Millennium Board were at Huntington Beach, where Dye shirts were being worn. It was unanimously decided that Dye Shirts are not excessively padded and will be acceptable at Millennium Events this year.

The website and rule (as we have pointed out) doesn't say anything about excessively...

It says very clearly

You are not allowed to play with jerseys with padding sewn into the shoulders and only a
single layer of padding is allowed on the elbow
So under those rules. I suggest all people that usually wear Dye 2003 shirts bring a spare WITHOUT PADDING SEWN into the shoulders... and/or don't bother bringing their elbow/forearm pads.... ;)

It's a very clear rule. (makes a change ;) )

If it's been changed then it needs to be posted officially on the Millennium Series Website and not just via one of the board on a website.

I would also want to know exactly WHY such a rule was being changed when the original rule has been quite clear for years that no padding was allowed in Jersey's...

If I were a captain at the Portugal event I'd make very sure I had a copy of the rules with me and knew what was and was not allowed under them...

BTW, I have no problem with the Dye shirts. I think they look hella cool. I just think it's the start of a slippery slope and I don't like rules being switched for convenience or other unknown reasons...
