Millennium Qualifying

Nitro Dan

Control Freak
Some of you may think I am complaining but I am not, I just want your opinions.

The top 16 teams in novice qualify, great. Nitro qualified Forth so no problem there. The 16 teams are then split into four divisions and the top one from each division goes through to the finals. Nitro won two out of the three final games which put us with the forth highest score, but because we didn't win the division we didn't go through.

The top team in one of the divisions only won one game so we had over double the points they had. I can understand it from both sides, If I was the team that came first and didn't go through I would be really p****d off.

What do you guys think top four scores, or top one from in each division.

Dan

p.s. We played novice because we haven't played very well so far this year. I want to say a big thanks to all the team as everyone of them played awesome. It must be something to do with different countries! I would also like to thank Jason from Team Phoenix for guesting for us.

p.p.s. Eclipse eBlades rock.

I m jeremy from team Brousse Brothers (France), we did first at the qualifying session. But to be qualified, i understood that we had to win the three matchs.... we won one, another one got stolen because a guy played with a pok on the loader and took three guys from us !! He even told us at the end of the game !!! fu.ù*$ !!! that was so disgusting !!

well.... see you on the fields!! ahah

12 Pro's should have gone through too, i mean 8 out of 19 that is too fierce, if one more Pro team had entered we would have qualified!! man thats tough!

Dammit, Gaff. Quit your whining. 8 of 19 is 42% through after prelims. If Am B has field of 50 and takes 16 that's 32%.

Colin's right. Gotta take the top team from each group. Groups are reseeded in an attempt to create some basic equality and comparisons of results are only valid among the teams that played the same opponents.

sorry Baca, did not mean to sound like i was whining, not what i meant.

my justification for what i said is basically people want to see pro games, especially in the finals, and if 12 had qualified for the semi's then there would have been a few more pro vs pro games for people to watch.

the comment about us qualifying was tongue in cheak, if we had played better we would have qualified anyway!!

Indeed.

Have to take top one of each bracket if you have four brackets and take four teams.

I'd argue, however, that only taking one team from four brackets of 4 in and of itself is crap. The odds that you really get the top 4 teams into finals are only about 10%. Hell, the odds that you even get the top three teams into finals are less than 50-50. You can't really count on seeding to be that good especially considering the cross-divisional nature of the prelims.

Sucks, but...

That's the way it goes. Happened to us in Germany, and we missed finals by 6 points. We won 11 of 13 games at the event, and missed going to the show. It was completely fair, but disappointing.

What it comes down to is - don't lose. It's the only way to ensure that you'll be in finals. :D
