Millennium Pat on the Back

OK, we got the other thread running that is cataloging a lot of the problems you guys have with the Millennium coupled with some real good recommendations which is exactly what was needed.
But, to counter this somewhat negative endeavor, I'd like to create another thread that will run in parallel with that one detailing all the good stuff they do, and have also done in the past.
And so, can you please post up what you think are the good things about the Millennium and so I'll kick it off with :-

The Millennium guys were the forerunners of the world's great tournaments, they put the razzmatazz into paintball by transforming competitions into events and no other tournament crystallizes this than the Toulouse event a few years back....it was the absolute bollocks !!!

These guys took the normal boring events we used to have and jacked six gallons of roids in its ass.

The Yanks came across to Europe in droves, and they did so because of the high standard of events ... I am fully aware the landscape has changed but let's not forget what they did.

But being serious, Robbo is right. Toulouse of old was THE BOLLOX, with maybe Amsterdam for a couple of seasons.

I liked that you used to self seed, and played a mix of Pro teams, div1 and one novice team.

I enjoyed when they bought out the best of 3 in the finals for 7 man.

I think the current MS format (race to 5 points) is the best ever format ever in the world ever, except maybe xball, but its great none the same.

Total outside view but as an avid baller stationed over here from the states it seems as if the millenium gets an unfaur shake. I have played the NPPL in the lower divs and let me tell you they have nothing on the Millemium series.

What alot of people don't understand is that they are running a business. As Robbo and quite a few others states there is never going to be a perfect series. There is always going to be unhappy people but without them where are the top teams going to play. Where are teams going to up there game. I love the way the game is played here. Totally different than in the states. Good or bad you decide... but it is much more laid back here than in the states. You can go out and play and not worry about being "AGG" or in the know. Believe it or not the game is still FUN. My hats off to my team for taking me in.

Guess where this is going is look at what we have over here as a premier league and be happy there is even one at all. Wendy and a few others put on great events but are limited to venues. Maybe we should get Wendy to take over then we would be OK. All things considered keep up the good work guys.

I was a big fan of playing your pro team.

I recall getting spanked by Dynasty, Legion, though we did shoot two of Bob longs guys

You were guaranteed much more game time than we now get.

I do like the X ball lite format too though, though i would prefer it to be first to 5 not 4 for all divisions.

I have to say I am a big fan of Millennium and how its run. Its not an easy task to put these events together and do so successfully. The main thing about Millennium is the people involved, from the top peops to the teams and even the refs (blasphemy right?). I have never had a bad experience at the events; paintball and drinking, and there's plenty of both. Lack of women but they do try at the admin stand Actually they do a pretty good job aswell.

Now I dont know what the standard is in the states and at other tournaments in Europe but I do know that MS does get a little too much stick sometimes. However there are always going to be haters and to be honest it does nothing for the sport. Maybe if more teams would support Millennium you might see some changes. I believe 2008 was one of their slowest years in recent times (correct me if im wrong) and that was due to a global economic downturn. I figure if you're committed you will try anything to compete and half the battle is for teams to pull the finger out and just get out there and play.
