I am probably being a bit of a n00b but a quick point in the right direction would be appreciated.

I have been told that divisions within the MS will be fixed with the top 3 teams from each division being promoted at the end of the season and the bottom 3 being relagated to the division below. And that is the only time teams can move between divisions, so if you play AM B this season if you dont finish in the top/bottom 3 you will remain in AM B even if you wish to move up to AM A, you can no longer enter as what you perceive to be you division. Is this correct?

tnx for your help :)

Yeah thats right. As it should be, bringing us into line with other sports. I think its a good thing, as teams will now have to earn their place in whatever league they play in.:)

Well.
What if a team looses 75% of the team and brings in new less expeirensed players?
Or if a team brings in some top players.
This can be very complicated.

In sweden we are working in a national ranking.
And we will rank players not teams.
That means that when you done your rooster you can easy see were to play.
And if the rooster changes the team will be mooved up or down depending on what players left and were added.

This can work with the top teams.
In those teams players are selected by the team.
So you always keep a hig level of skill in the team.
But the lower divisions have a hard time to keep players that can play all MS and therfore needs to borrow players to be able to play. And if the players that can come are ranked in a higer division then we cant come at all.

No it´s very simple, that team stays in it's league, and might be in the bottom three places at the end of the season and then drop down a league.

If those experienced players start a new team, they must begin at the bottom and earn their way up over the course of a few seasons.

This encourages players to stay faithful to their team and the team management to recruit better players to the team.

This is a team sport, after all.

And money doesn't buy a new team a spot at the top... :-D

hmmm thats a fair comment about money not buying you a playing level, although this does mean that any team not commiting to every millenium event that season will be lacking in cumulative points and therefore be dropped down a division when their playing level is actually a lot higher.

Shrewd buisness move to encourage teams to commit to the millenium series, which is arguably one of the best in the world- but is also a costly series to play all events.

Also teams will now be inadvertently 'sandbagging' through no fault of their own, but due to having not played more than one or two events a year.

Bottom 3 only

Well, they have to be among the 3 lowest ones to go down a league, and I'll expect a lot of Am A and Am B teams only play one event, so it will be the lowest scoring of those that get sent down a notch.

I like it like that....

1) You have to show commitment to playing the MS to succeed to upper levels of the series.

2) Players have to be committed to their team, leaving for a new team means beginning at Novice. Successful individuals can be recruited by the top teams when those teams need replacement players.

3) The team becomes a valuable thing and it is through teams and their "brand value" that the sport could possibly aquire non-playing supporters of teams. Endless involvement in what players are now at what team and ever changing team names means that you have to be very personally involved to keep up.

4) Every national league should follow suit. Points 1, 2 and 3 make my mind up about it.

And money can buy you a place at the top, but only if you buy an existing team :-D

What if in 2005 there will be more all star pro teams (like Arsenal, XSV etc) and they want to play some MS events? i'm quite sure they won't play in MS if they are sent to div 3.

I think teams should be given the right to choose to which div to enter. Forced promotions should be used if a team does well in its div or relegations allowed if they can't handle the competition.

So teams register to whatever div they want and MS could adjust the divisions by rankings or whatever.

Or better yet, at the beginning of season MS would announce the minimum div for each team which they can enter, and the team can enter that div or divs higher, but now lower. New teams could choose which ever division they want to play in.

Teams are not committed to single series anymore. This is especially true with better/pro teams, they play a few events here and a few there, which ever gives them the best competition. If MS locks their divisions it could mean they would turn away some big name teams and this would hurt the MS overall.
