Was on the Mill website and saw this.

Millennium Series patches, which are obligatory for SPL and CPL, will be available at the registration in Toulouse. The patches can be ironed onto your jerseys.
I did a quick search, but couldn't spot anything on the boards on this - so apologies if this is a double post from somewhere.

Anyway - WTH? The series is telling players/teams that they have to put the Series logo on their jerseys? Seems a bit strange/over the top for me.

Thoughts/comments?

it is the same for other sports like football or rugby
the playing shirts have the logo of the league on them

like the champions league in football

So remember to put that iron in your kit bag everyone

I can see this causing a lot of problems if irons can not be found or supplied by the registration crew.

- not to mention ironing on nylon

This is a completely fcuked up deal - especially as the teams get absolutely nothing for it - and the MS doesn't really get anything out of it either...

Seems like a pointless exercise really.... and the only significant thing that will happen in Toulouse, is that loads of teams will require refunds from the MS, for melted jerseys.

Ive just been taking a look at the new rules on this, and i dont need too really but i thought id help you out ...

The approved Millennium series method of patch attachement to top-grade tournament jerseys is to do it during your first game. At the 10 second call from the ultimate marshall on the field hold the patch on the shoulder, or where you wish to affix the patch, then at "Game On" run and "Superman" into the 50 or Snake, whichever you choose.

Be sure to land on the patch, the friction on our new XL turf will meld with your top quickly and efficiently

sounds awfully cheap...in that case i'd watch out for congestion charging on the snake lanes

put a cotton top over the part you want to iron or a sheet should work fine
