As always, we are looking to make improvements to the Midlands masters. The responce from you guy's who played the Welsh Open on Sunday has been out of this world, but as always we know there are things to be improved on.
There have already been a couple of points made, ie suppling air for the teams, which we will look into as a possiblity for the future, but we want to hear from you on how we can improve on what we've built up on with the MM.
We run this event for you guy's so let us know what you want.

What we want??

More Tournaments like sunday please!!!

I appreciate a Sup'air tournament takes longer to set up and is more expensive to run but look at the feedback so far, not one negative post about the site or fields!

Im being honest so if you dont like it dont read...

Before I go on I just wanna say that the marshals had a hard job on Sunday, there were allot of teams there and they had a lot to get through.
BUT
Not all of the marshals did a good job, some were experienced and did well but there were some who could clearly not cope with the pace of some of the play. I dunno how noticable this was in the lower divs but especially in the top 2 divisions, some of the judging was a bit slow and I saw many teams victim to some rushed decisons or in some cases decision taking waaay to long to make.
I think that next time you should have an ultimate on each field who has judged a millenium or nppl event before and can make sure his marshals are doing a good job and are coping with fast paced play.

Im not bitching im being constructive, if people wanna argue and make out the judging was flawless they can but your just gonna force me to describe some of the stuff I saw or was subject to. Instead make suggestions (like ive just done) on how the judging can be better next time.

No problem with the post. The whole point of this is to get honest feed back from you the players. We always make a big effort to get marshal's who we feel are of a high quality and we will continue to do so. With the pace of Sup Air ball, marshalling is getting ever harder and misstakes will happen even with the best judges around, and it has to be said that sometimes we the players can make their job harder than it should be.
The point with the head judge keeping an eye on the marshal's to ensure they are coping with play is a valid one, but I would also say that all of the head field judges who ran fields for us are very experienced marshals, and have been head field judges at more than just the Midlands Masters.

Thank you for your honesty, we will always be willing listeners to any views

Great tourney

Well organised, well presented, BUT....it aint a big but really.

The field layouts.

Don't get me wrong, the fields were great but didn't play quite as well as they could.

I reckon it's time we (UK dudes) start to look at how the yanks set up some fields on the traumahead videos (available from Planet). They seem to put more effort into created some crazy designs mixing up bunkers (ie. arches over snakes and wingnuts insinde a snake on the tape). The Diablo field had plaenty bunkers, too many in fact, which could have been used better I think. The velet looking field was far too open to actually play any ball on. The other two fileds were cool, especiallt the blue/red field (3 I think) which was more playable than the others.

This aint negative critisism dudes, just something that'd be cool to see in future coz you got everything else nailed guys.

Awesome.

first outing for a while

Hi Phil

from the guys in Detritus, i have to thank you and the guys for a well run, well organised Tournament. As most of us had not played for over 12 months (some of us nearly 18 months) it came as a little shock to how far the scene has moved on in such a short time.

I dont know what we did to deserve the fair play award as from what we saw nearly every game was fair with players calling them selves out when hit, it was good to see and again shows how much this sport has come forward.

I think you guys have now set yourselves a very high standard, which i hope you will keep up. From what i have heard from a lot of people you have put a lot of expienced organisers to shame, for all the hard work you have all put in you deserve a pat on the back.

As for some feed back there is very little to say it was jsut about perfect the only thing i would say to look at would be the fields.
Most were great but i felt field 3 was a little barren not enough barricades in the centre of the field.

Other than that keep up the good work, and thanks for the award

cheers

Bruce

I play for Dave Stewart's (rekka barrels) new Pro team Outkast - but most of them are london way. When im not playing or training with them I play for WDP team 'shaft' or ronin, Ive found whoring out to teams is good for individual practise cos it makes me work harder but i have to be carefull not to upset dave cos i could find myself getting screwed up into a lil tiny ball...hes good friends with wdp at the mo though!
Twas a good game against tremmor but i think both teams were more concerned with holding on to points rather then losing them.

Blakey, Phil, Les, 'cheers'.
Total quality, I have not had this much fun playing for years and that's the truth, 'cheers'. Well organised fun at that, 'cheers'. And a bar too, 'cheers'. I get married on the 8th of June and my stag do is on the 11th of May and you three are more than welcome to come, as long as you don't mind dressing up like a nun, 'CHEERS'.
