Ok I know this is all gonna be very opinionated and down to personal preference, but what would people's recommendation be? I am looking at around £200 to spend for a second hand gun.

Want something reliable above all else. But with upgrade options for the future so I can expand if needed.

Any suggestions? :)

I've been told that the Eclipse Etha is a great mid range marker thats meant to be good for way past entry level. I think brand new they're around £260 so you should be able to pick one up for £200 no problem. I don't own one myself but I've been recommended it as the one to go for as a first marker. Hope this helps :)

There are loads of decent second hand guns in that price range 200-250 will get you an axe, mini, etha, proto rail, eteks and even some of the older egos, geos and dye matrixs. My recommendations would be either a etha, etek or an older ego cause the maintence is fairly minimal and there is a wealth of knowledge on here if you do have probkems. I have heard good things about the axe but have never used one so don't know much about them (sure someone else will be a long soon to let you know they are easy to maintain). Matrixes are a bit more fiddle to maintain for a beginner but once you have sorted out what to do ( generally just lubing up the o rings and changing any that require it) they are quality guns as well. Hope this helps if you require any more information just ask.

Thanks Slam, I've since watched the video hustle paintball produced on the subject which covers it all very well and what you're saying pretty much echoes that! I like to get as much info about all I can find and all opinions then choose what makes sense for me :)

So far I'm liking the etha, etek4 or an ego as you say

My favorite mid range marker of all time was the pm8, loved that gun. However these aren't coming up for sale that often now also unless you knew about matrixes they could be a pain if you altered the settings.
