Try the Evil Omen, you can't go wrong.....Evil's new not-quite-an-autococker-style thing. Apparently they're the mutts-parts once you've got them set-up and they can't chop, due to the cam-feed design.
Heard nothing but good things about them, I was after one before I blagged me matrix.

There's a few options for that sort of price range as I see it. For that amount of money you could get yourself a well set up 2nd hand Impulse, a 'Cocker, or a 2nd hand Angel of sorts.
Keep your eyes on the 2nd hand boards for something that meets your needs, if it's only a back-up then buying new probably isn't the best of investments.

Kaish, how much are you wanting for your Omen? As i'm thinking of selling my backup Spyder and picking up an omen for backup instead?
On topic : Don't just disregard the Omen, people are far too quick to say "just get a cocker" or "just get an impulse". If you want something a bit different than EVERYONE else has got, you can't do better than an Omen for the price.
