hey
well basically im studying BTEC Media Production in college.
and ive been asked to make a clip that lasts for about 5 minutes of paintball.
basically in this ive got to cram as much as possible into that time about the history and how its changed, obviously showing more interest into sup air and try to expand the public interest to it.
i'd also be looking to do short interviews which can be inlcuded from players.
hopefully all will go to plan as intended and hopefully, make an impact and spread the word.
will be taking footage down dartford if thats not a problem with dave, and am just interested if anyone has any good ideas to this
if so please let me know as im hoping to take this further than just showing it to the rest of the college.
thanks for your interest
Phil

WTD UK: BNIB Dream...
Look at paintball documentary DVDs like Push, Sunday Drivers, and Serial Killers. They have sections where they montage a paintball team or a player 'through history'. Follow that sort of style - music and lots of fades between photos/action.

Personally I would go and bribe/Interview Twizz and Big Dave mate - They're respected and got the experience (they go... all the way back!). You could probably use the interviews as narrative over the video footage.

i was down at the PA this weekend diong filming for a uni course.ill give you some hints that may help you.
make sure you got a filter to protect the lense. if you want some good angles/shots you will get shot as i found out.
also make sure if your using a stand(guess you will be as its to shaky without) that you pivet camera on one leg. this way you can pivot and get to the action.
also if cammera has got speed settings, set to fastest because this will be best suited to the speed of player/game.

cheers for the tips guys.. gotta start looking for those dvds now and have a breeze through them
even though its not supposed to be for the reason of creating awareness of sup air ball and the universal competitiveness of the game, this is my main aim as even when my tutors talked to me about it, tehy both said "oh yer and you can take a camera into the woods and film loads of stealthy people hiding"
from that point i just shook my head in shame and really wanted to show what the game has become and what its all about
