Possibly because a certain bunch of irate paintballers kicked up an almighty fuss a while ago when they were trying to get flights to Portugal, thus ensuring that Ryanair drew up an official policy on the subject as a matter of urgency?

No more phone calls....PLEASE!

As an add on to this, Easy Jet are currently ok with Markers + Bottles.

PLEASE do not go contacting them about it as we will end up in the same
situation as we are with Ryan Air.

It was Spain not Portugal, and the amount of "well meaning" telephone calls by inexperienced (in travelling with Markers) Paintballers to Ryan Air, prompted them to put out an official Memo which has now made it down to the check in desks and the X-ray staff.

This is not meant to be a lecture, but it is a warning. If we lose Easy Jet a lot of teams will not be able to compete in Europe because of the increased costs of flights or cost of lost work days due to driving times etc.

Book with Easy Jet, turn up 2 hours early make sure your bottles are empty and check your bags through X-Ray (fragile Baggage) Job done.
If you can't manage that then drive!

Peace

Chuck.

Errr as an addition or further clarity to "make sure your bottles are empty". Make sure they are NOT attached to the Regs or gun itself. They should be open for inspection.

And don't even think about taking playing gear on as carry on. Paintball equipment MUST be checked into the planes hold.

When we traveled to spain we made to silly mistake of calling them before hand, we thought it was the best thing to do, but as long as all of your kity in in your main luggage you should be fine. We where and one of our players have two full working Angels in his kit mate.

definatly make sure your bottles are NOT attached to the regs.....otherwise theres a damn good chance they can explode due to the change in pressure at altitude
