what do you guys out there think of matrixes?

bits like weight, ROF, reliability, accuracy (don't start that debate again :) ) etc.

what would i expect to pay for one new and where to get one from?

also, what would you reccomend me getting, i have a budget of about £1000-£1200 but that has to include a barrel and an air system.

I also hear things about custom matrixes, such as the image version, what are these likw ( a review on any custom one appreciated)

and finally, are there any proud matrix owners out there who would let me put a pot of my paint through their matrix at the next round of the Midlands Masters?

Ok first of all I am selling one, but don't let that sway things.

Very fast, very accuarte, bit heavier than some markers but how feeble are you? Mine is a dual reg LCD Matrix, with effient bolt and chip, runs really low pressure so no chops and tolerates dodgy paint.

If you can get 4500psi fills then a 1.1 litre bottle is fine.

I am selling as have changed teams and use Angels.

If you want details by the way mail me paintballbudgie@btopenworld.com

In my unbiased opinion, they are excellent markers, low kick and very fast.
One thing I've personaly noticed is that they are very easy to dry fire fast but another story when trying to get paint out the barrel, they seem to fire too fast to feed, even with a Halo.
Rgey are quite maintenance heavy requiring strib down and relube on the o-rings of thich there are a few.
Efficiency sucks unless you get the upgrades but then on a marker of that price range should you have to buy upgrades to make it perform like other markers do stock?

Hope that helps.

Paul.

yes paul, totally unbiased ;) :D

paintballbudgie, wouldn't mind some details and pics

toole@tremmor.co.uk (my spangly new team e-mail!!)

p.s i think feeble may be the wrong word for me, at 6"4 and not lanky i don't have trouble with most markers, it's just that it may be seeing some all day scenario gaming once in a while.

Matrices have come a long way.

A stock LCD or LED with bolt kit are very decent markers. A few modifications that I recommend are:

Angel detents (prevents double feeds from force fed hoppers)
Possibly Top hat mod (either evolve top hat or ghetto aluminium tape mod)

The top hat mod will give you decent efficiency. There is a lot of other stuff you could do and with a few extra parts matrices are looking to be very efficient, think evolve claim 1700+ shots off a 1.1 4500psi with their bolt kit.

Also make sure that you adjust your ROF to a sensible level and you should do fine.

Is that £750 including shipping and tax?

The Aardvark matrixes look cool and I believe have some good upgrades!

it's £720 without import tax + shipping, so not a bad deal, shipping should be between £20-50, so around the £750 mark. as for import tax, lets say i have my own little way around that ;)
