What is the general view of the matrx marker around here? Thinking of upgrading from my spyder and wondered how these fare against the cocker and angels. I have heard all the reports of accuracy of the cocker and ROF of the angel is that true?

I have seen a Ltd edition 2002 matrix lcd for sale elsewhere what do you think is a good price for this.

Cheers all

dude check out these websites for everything u need to know about the matrix
www.matrixowner.com
www.aardvarkdirect.com
www.thematrixcenter.com
in my opinion the matrix is a very good gun and very simple 2 fix should it break down, all you need is to search the above sites for the info u need.
i think a lcd is about a £995 new or there abouts so aim 2 pay anything from £400 for a old cosmetically damaged gun up to £750 for a minter, seen a few recently for £600 or therabouts when i was looking to buy a lcd
hope this helps
cheers casper

Matrix, good marker, quick to fire not easy to feed though, when you see/hear people dry firing they arew dam quick but even with a halo on the bolt doesn't stay back long enough to feed.
They aren't really a pick up, play, wipe off, put away marker, they need more attention then that (full strip and re-lube)
For the money I'd go Viking, you might say I'm biased seeing as I run Alpha Paintball (UK Ditributor for AKA:D) well I'm not. The viking truely is an easy marker to live with fast, (and about to get faster when the a.c.e is released) consistant (again about to get better:eek: with the release of the Soda Can Mod) and efficient.
Some of the newer milling styles are lovely featherlite and the new JMJ milling for example. Oh yeah both these are available from, yep you guessed it Alpha Paintball. :D :D :D

I took over the company cos I believe in the product after owning a viking for a few months!
Not the best because I sell it, I sell it because its the best!

Paul.

Sabre, things are looking up for the matrix.

Efficiency: once a problem but not so much any more with andy scutt of fury sports reporting 1700+ shots off a 1.1 4500psi fill with his/ Evolve new bolt parts. There are also many other mods out there/ about to come out. I run a 1.1 4500 psi with the stock LCD bolt and have no efficiency worries.

Bolt times: get the LCD, has much more options in setting bolt times, back and forwards. I don't understand the point paul was making about Halo and matrix problems though? The back pulse is adjustable, even on the LEDs the back pulse can be taken up to 45ms if necessary.

Detents: For some the stock detents are a problem especially with force fed loaders, my LCD has been fitted with angel detents courtesy of pure rush products. Search for woz on these forums.

Accuracy: Not going to enter into this, good paint is an often forgotten factor and to my mind more important than most people realise.

ROF: The gun can do more than 20bps and the only restriction is the loader.

Price: not sure on retail but LCDs pop up for silly small money on the forums, just wait and see I guess.

Maintenance: Maybe more than some other markers but no big deal, easy to learn and relatively quick to do. Once setup most matrixes I have seen (quite a few!) run very sweet.

Hope this helps.

Hi Paul,

most of the Halo problems I have seen with matrices have been double feeds (and hence paint breakage) due to the Halo powering the balls past the stock detents.

I would have thought that lower back pulse times would be desirable with a Halo (for all markers) as it forces the balls into the breech.

I think the Halo has been a shock to many players and markers but once setup they seem to feed flawlessly.

btw, I think I know some guys interested in the soda can for the matrix, keep us posted on any updates. ;)
