Hi Folks.
I have posted up this Step by Step guide on how to change the Strap on a mask for a Gas Mask harness, suitable for hearing aid wearers or anyone else who has problems with wearing the normal across the back of the head straps.

Pic Heavy so I apologise in advance.

What you will Need!

Mask
Scissors
Paracord
Webbing Strapping
Screw Studs/Binding screws.
Cigarette Lighter/Matches
Needle and Thread.
Gas Mask Harness
2 x clips/buckles.

Step 1:-

Remove the Stock Strap from the Mask, and remove the Visor.

Step 2:-
Cut Short lengths of Paracord, and then using the Lighter/matches, melt the ends into small points that will fit through the Vents on top of the mask.

Push the Paracord through and tie into loops.

Step 3:-
Feed the top straps of the Harness through the paracord loops, and the side straps through the slit on the mask where the stock strap would be. Stitch these into place.

Step 4:-
Cut some short lengths of the Webbing strap, and feed through the Female half of the clip.

Once fed through the Clip. Using the lighter, Sear the edges so they "melt" together, preventing fraying

Stitch near to the clip itself to prevent loose movement., Puncture a hole through the straps.

Step 5:-
Take both of your female halves of the clips with the webbing attached, and using the Screw Studs/Chicago Screws,Binding Screws. Fix into place on the lower part of the faceplate (On the JT Flex's there are hole here anyway)

The binding Screws.

put together to give you:-

Step 6:-
Feed the lower Straps of the Harness into the Male halves of the Clips, and then clip them together, and presto your finished.
Just adjust to ensure snug fit.

only really needs doing if it'll help you play, otherwise masks are fine the way they are.

may I ask, why would you want this mod done? are you a hearing aid user or do you have problems with the current straps?

Some of the guys I play with want to start using in ear radios to communicate, a similar size thing to hearing aids so it may be useful to me/us.

Photos of mask being worn

Sorry about quality as taken at Dialysis Unit.

Front:-

Hearing Aid Side:-
I left the Ears loose so they still cover and protect, but are not pulled into the head by anything.

and from the rear:-

Rear Straps were twisted, now fixed!
