Markers in AirSpace...

First of all... Be in the airport a couple of hours before you've already planned to!!

You must take your valve totally off the airbottle, so that you can see the bottom of the bottle (the Max-Flow4500 system makes this much more easy :D)

When checking in be sure to tell you need the security to look at your luggage because you have some paintballequipment with you - DONT TELL YOU HAVE A GUN WITH YOU!!! DONT TRY EXPLAINING - WAIT FOR SECURITY...

When the security has arrived they'd propably want to see all of your equipment, so show them!! Try not to reffer to your maker as a gun all the time...

Unless your marker is in a serious condition, they'd propably treay it properly all the way...

You'll get your marker upon arrival, unless they'd "misplaced it"...

Good Luck!!

Pinky :)

Having flown to and from the US with my markers - no problems at all just follow Pinky_81's advice and you will be OK, just one more bit of advice, pack a Paintball Magazine up ontop of your kit as this usually answers any questions about what the kit really is to the Airline staff & security.

What security will do is tape up all your kit with security checked tape and when you arrive at your destination you will pickup you kit from a security desk. Easy..

I'm guessing your in the UK? Guys, does the UKPSF do a 'letter' along the lines of...to whom it may concern...the holder of this letter has paintball equipment with them and is travelling to play in a tournament ...(going on to explain what a marker is & how its not operational without the air tank etc..blah blah). I recall after Sept 11 the US tightened security on markers and a US paintball authority published a similar letter on a web site for US players travelling to/from tournaments by air to download and carry with them. It also had a phone number of the organisation in case of queries by airport security. Can any of you recall the site/ whether UKPSF do something similar?
