Hi guys,

"just serviced by eclipse" or "been serviced by lips" etc

what is actuly done in a service? how much does it cost and do i want one for my marker???

many thanks guys

Servicing a marker is much like servicing anything else. It gets taken apart, cleaned, visually checked, any worn seals, o-rings, etc., are replaced, lubricated, re assembled and the settings checked and adjusted as required.

The cost depends on where/who services it and what parts are needed, so are variable.

Sellers that have just had a marker serviced by LiPS, Eclipse, Dye, or any other recognised establishment are instilling more confidence n their goods for buyers (i.e. there shouldn't be anything wrong with it if somebody confident has just serviced it).

Bit like buying a car really, do you buy one with a recent service & MOT, or one that has no service history?

Servicing by Eclipse costs about £30 + £8 recorded delivery back to you. (I know as I just sent my off to them today.)

As Pete said its stripped down, checked, o-rings replaced, lubed, if the board software needs updating they do that as well. Once its all like spanky new they test it and chrono it back to the standard you'd expect it to come out of the box.

How much it costs for you to send it to them depends on which Royal Mail service you use. It will cost about £8 for the basic recorded delivery and up to £30 of item insurance, but £20 (which I paid) for it be sent recorded delivery and for them to insure it to the full cost of the item. (In my case £400+ of Ego 08)

Do you want one for your marker ? Depends what it is, what you want to do with it, and how much you love it.

thanks guys,
the reason i asked is that i stripped my marker the other day, cleaned everything, checked all the 0 rings, re-lubed the bolt etc and then put it back together and tested it in the garden and it got me thinking... what else is there to do to it??? i can't do any softwear updates although i have just ordered a tadeo board and i don't have a crono but apart from that i thought i did a good job :D

its a 2nd hand mini so i think ill just look after it my self.... now if i had an ego i think i would also send it away :D

many thanks

I suppose a little off topic but worth mentioning, if you have a mini there is some great mini service type vids on UTube that may help you out. :D

I you have any problems with it, you can PM me if you want to mate. Its a pretty easy gun to work on after you learn a little about it. Sounds like you figured it out though :)
