Im like Polyfilla I fill cracks
Why has the market for 2nd hand guns fallen so far ?
are there fewer players starting ?
to many good guns flooding the market ?
Better value new starter guns ?
Or is it just that weve finaly realised that you will lose half your value in a month Just like cars and other equipment..
Whats your ideas on the subject and is this the way its going to be

the depritiation of markers has slowed down abit with most markers going for the asking price, i think just wait a month and watch as it becomes a sellers market ;)

There's been sooo many threads on this!
But heres the lowdown.
The 'majority' of forum users especially in the UK have 'all the gear and no idea'. They have to have the latest and greatest gats (I guess to attempt to make up for the lack of talent). Thus they are far too eager to offload their 'old' gat.
This inturn brings down everyones prices not least thanks to the 'little bitches' in classfieds piping up with 'that's only worth £XXX' or 'my mate bought one for only £XXX'.
And therefore you have the current state of the market.
I thank you.

i think the fact that markers get outdated pretty quick reflects why second hand marker prices have fallen,

for example an 05 ego outdated by 06
05 speed outdated by 06 speed
DM5/DM6
PM5/PM6
and theres probably more examples that i just cnt think of

this tied it with colliers suggestion of the need to have the latest gear means markers are going for very little 2nd hand:mad:

There is a greater supply of markers than there is demand at the moment. Whenever there is too much supply, supplier power falls as consumers have much more to choose from....meaning everyone has to compete on price a lot more.

Not so long ago, paintballers really had a choice between buying an Angel, an Impulse, a top of the line cocker or being out-gunned.....now there's a lot more to choose from, and when the manufacturers are having to lower their prices, then the effects are going to snowball into the second hand market.

Therefore, if your the seller, chances are your going to be undercut by someone willing to sell for less than you. It happens in every market when there is a flood of products available. When the only car you could buy was a Ford model T in black I bet the resale value was pretty high.

Just be careful what you buy...if you buy 'new' make sure your getting the best value for your money..but expect to lose more money than you would have a few years ago, assuming you paid the retail sale value (or something close) anyway.

I think that the ION and Wrath, have destroyed the second hand market.

An also people on the forums selling markers for ridiculously low prices and then when you try and sell the same marker, the buyer will refuse to pay the price its worth, just because they saw the same gat sell alot cheaper the week before.

You would have thought that ramping would have helped the marker market, with all markers being able to shoot 15bps, all people need to find is one that they find most comfortable to play with and then stick with it!

Instead of having 35 new threads like this every week, couldn't we just set up a sticky with a link to an online economics textbook for those who couldn't quite grasp it in high school?
