Difficult to say precisely, everyone has their own preferences. If we say you have a £180 budget, take off £30 for a Halo type loader (good enough for a new and infrequent player) for £150 there are a few options out there. Personally I'd aim for getting hold of an older Planet Eclipse ETEK model, but that's mostly because I have a boner for Planet kit. They are rock solid reliable and very easy to service if you have problems. At that 150-200 quid price range you can get lucky and some surprises do turn up on the forums so it's just a case of hanging around and seeing what comes up

Best markers on the market within your price range (in my eyes) are;

Planet Eclipse - Ego 06, Ego 07 or ETEK
Dye - DM7, DM8, DM9 (maybe) or a Proto Matrix Rail
Empire - Invert Mini

All of the above are very reliable electro markers. All very easy to service and maintain and, should anything go wrong, PE, Dye & Empire all have fantastic customer service and techs that will definitely sort you out.

My best advise however is due to the differing weights, loudness, kick, sizes and feel of each market it is definitely down to personal preference and I always advise TRY BEFORE YOU BUY. Get yourself down to a local site, chat to some guys with their own gear, ask if you can have a play on their marker in a practice range, put a pot or 2 through each gun that takes your fancy. Most guys will be more than happy to let your try their gun or talk to you about it. After all they've spent hundreds of pounds on their kit so they'd be flattered that your taking an interest in it.

All the best,
Rhys
