Im not going to help by offering anything, but consider the following:

Laptop sleeve - ideal for a marker, scratch & bump prevention and fits in your gear bag etc. keep your eye open and pound shops etc have them now & again, staples were selling a few on clearance for a while at £1 or pennies
Flight case - maplins, b&q etc
Even a brief case can be a marker case

You can by proto marker cases new for £20 iirc

even a padded tool / spanner bag is good = £5 from an Auto shop.
