so was thinking something older like an ego 5 would be the kind of price range i need to be looking at for first gun, however on the advice that the newer they are then the smaller and lighter they are should perhaps be looking newer? what is general retail? any 'affordable' favourites

define your budgets for gun + loader and it will be easier for us to recommend affordable

Take into account, an 05 is now 7/8 years old.
getting replacement parts such as solenoid, detents, board etc if any faults will be very hard to source now.

for £300 you can get a full set up, maybe a mini a rotor and a bottle. or if you want just the gun go for an ego 09 for that price. top guns aswell.
