THE LAW REGARDING MARKERS...
In Malaysia,a marker is categorized as a firearm .
No one can personally claim they own a marker unless they possess a personal gun license which is utilised for the marker alone.
No one can operate a paintball center without firearm licenses. The number of licenses determines the number of marker you can have in your possession.
No one can organise tourney or facilitate the bringing in of markers without these licenses.
Attempting any of the above will be breaking a very serious law in Malaysia.
Ignorance is bliss when you get away with it,when caught...it is not an acceptable excuse and the authorities will be pissed.
The only authority in Malaysia that can issue such licenses is the Royal Malaysian Police. When I mentioned "no one",I meant nobody.....not individuals, not associations, not state govts, not any other ministries.
These other ministries can only endorse events....sometimes they don't even know if they are legal nor have the power to make them legal.
A simple phone call to our Federal Police HQ at Bukit Aman.....ask for the licensing dept, they will be able verify the above info.
The punishments can be found under Malaysia Firearms Act 1960.
Alway clarify with the organiser and most importantly....ask for a copy of the license which must be renewed monthly. Hope the above info is helpful to all those who are keen to come to Malaysia to compete. For further details,do PM me or Email me.TQ
