Ok Sports-fans, few quick questions bout upgrades for my good old bog standard mag:

Can people comment/make reccommendations on the following:

1- Suitable air system (on a budget) - Not really up to speed with those available or what i should be looking for.

2 - Lvl10 mod - where can i get it (i heard it retails at about £75 ?) & do i need any other kit with it?

3 - Electronic triggers - Reccomendations and again -prices -retailers etc.

4. Or should i just bite the bullet, pack up the old girl and just get a new marker for the same as those upgrades would set me back??

Thx in advance

Matt

Depends what you want really and what level you play at. The level 10 mod is excellent, everything you need is in it!
Air systems are good help get your shots more consistant, I'm sure you could pick up either a 2nd hand adjustible system for £100 or a brand new preset tank for £80.
Electronic triggers, not sure how reliable they have been on mags, have a look over at Automags.org do a search there that should help.

For the money you could probably get an electronic marker 2nd hand. On the other side I'm sure you know how your mag works, you play well with it, know how it shoots etc with the above upgrades it'll be easier to fire quickly and you won't chop!

Paul.

Hi mate. Pauls tha man when it comes to Mags but heres my 2ps worth
1.Air System. I use just a Pure Energy air system on my RT. its a fixed output of 850psi. i've put it on friends Mags an it runs fine so that might be worth a look(cheaper than and adjustable reg system, but restrictive) the other thing to think of with Air is check if the site/s that you'll use have facilities for Air fills. a lot of sites do and it ain't a problem but there are exceptions who don't so check first.otherwise change where you play or buy a dive tank :)
coz its a pain to turn up to play and find you can't coz they don't do air fills :(

2.Click HERE if you wanna get a Lvl 10 kit. All the reports have
been good on the LvL 10 kits(read Manike and Pauls threads on the matter) i haven't done it yet but it wont be long till i do!

3. errr pass. dunno about electro frames for mags not too sure on the advantages on a mag to do this, i like mine the way it is (when i wanna go electro i'll get an E-Mag) a friend runs an intelli frame on his RT and likes it but i haven't felt the need to do it to mine(yet) so save your pennies here.

4. errr pass again! you might find with the lvl10 and air system you'll love your Mag more.

over to you...Paul! lol

DON'T SELL IT!!

I wish I still had my old lvl7 (Although the Extreme C+C is fun teehee) Buy a HPA system, shove a lvl 10 in and go play!

Then when you realise how much you love this game, Rob a bank and get an Extreme mag w/Warp feed

:D

The New Extreme with Warp- simply Twist and Let Rip!!

Cheers but I can't take any credit for knowing mags, I'm new to them and have only started learning about them in the last few months, which luckily tied in with the level 10 beta testing etc :D

Re electric triggers.
I've not seen a good review of an aftermarket `leccy trigger yet,and to be fair it'd wasted on a std. Mag valve. The AGD Intelliframe isn't a leccy frame/trigger it just gives you the option of hopper operation every time you pull the trigger.
One option you have if you're going to run soley on air is get hold of a 2nd hand R\T valve and Lvl 10 it as they work really well with this mod.,and as Paul says buy a preset bottle new or 2nd hand,I have a Melee preset plumbed permanantly into my spare Automag and it runs really well 100% better than on CO2.
If you want good advice, spares or servicing AGD Europes you're best bet ,you can talk to John or Jackie on 01206 240831,websites:- www.airgun.com/Europe :D

well there's no need for a accurate primary reg cos the mag valve is a very accurate reg!especially the more modern 1's(ReTro,RT,Emag).

I wudnt really bother with electro triggers cos they add weight, expensive & just for sumfing to break on u.

The intelli frame is really meant for the warpfeed interface(so u dont have to use the vibration sensor)& revos if u want to run that on intelli feed-like sum angels.

If u want to keep ur mag then get a lv10 mod,2nd hand Retro valve or Rt valve as fleisher sez.
I have set my RT trigger so it will fire everytime sweetly with less than a 1mm trigger pull7 with the RTetc valve u can set the trigger pull weight very light by putting just less than 600psi in to the gun.

The only electro triggers for the Mag are the Booyaa/Mako Storm or Centerflag Hyperframe and I'd avoid both - loads of people have problems with them.

Best way to improve the trigger is probably to go ReTro and add a blade triggered intelliframe (or wait for the new Medusa frame from Benchmark which should be released in October). Add that and a level 10 and you're done. :)

Pretty much any air system that delivers over 700-750psi should be fine, as the Mag valve regulates the source down to its own working pressure anyway. I've been running an old (pre-Melee) adjustable Air America 3000psi/1.1l system for about 8-9 years which works a treat.

Only problem you might find (if you've got a fairly old Mag with the original valve) is that if the input pressure is fairly high the valve might vent out the rear when you try to get the velocity above about 270-280fps. If this happens you'll need a new reg piston from AGDE (not expensive).

Just don't sell it! :)

Nice One.
So here's how i see it -

Lvl10 = Must have

Air system = Must have for the kind of reliabilty i want (and need) for tourney lvl. I guess its more seal-friendly than CO2 as well.

RT Valve-Try and pick one up 2nd hand - Works a beaut with lvl10 mod

Frame - Bin the thought of a leccy.

Cheers for the help guys. See you in the classifieds then :) ( I never wanted to sell her anyways)
