So, what are people's opinions on Mag-Fed play? I would personally like to give it a go, but the one thing that really puts me off is the size of the magazines. I've been looking at the Dye DAM, and even that can only feed 10 balls/FS rounds per side of its magazine.

With real assault rifles, as far as I've read/watched (please do correct me if I'm wrong), it's about 30 rounds per magazine. I know that their rounds are much smaller (9mm compared to 17.72mm), but are there no magazines/markers where there is a "realistic" (again, don't have a clue what realistic is, but I'm pretty sure it's more than 10 rounds) amount of rounds?

If you could find a way to stagger the paintballs into a magasine then that would take up less room as in real magasines. If you had 30 balls in a line it would be 20.4" long! staggered you could almost halve that...

Well, with the help of some curry, I've been thinking about this a bit more. Beta Mags might be the answer.

As you can see, it's a very rough idea at the moment.

Which member of KU Nemesis are you?

you gotta think pricing as well, the most expensive part of a magazine is the spring.
i think the best thing to do is make the magazine driven by the marker, like a cyclone hopper

Take a look at the RAP4 T68 range. The mag feed ones are used by police and military units for practice and look pretty realistic. They'll take a lot longer to load than conventional marker.

I've just built myself a MK5 from the range of parts available at RAP4 in preparation for the release of their DMAGS which hold 20 rounds a piece.
I'm hoping to get some mag fed games in or even get some of the people I play regularly with to follow suit for a bit of limited paint play, my opinion is its got to add a different dimension to the game.

The AT-85 manages to hold 24 paintballs in a smallish mag or nearly 100 with a forward loader but we don't seem to hear about them much over here, they do a mag that you can attach a normal hopper to as well. Odd since they are a really elegent solution to mag fed using a chain system controlled by the bolt to drag loose paintballs up to the breach. They've been around for years as well.

Should tell you all you'd want to know about them.
