It's true allright, the Americans that played them were, Glen Takemoto and Dave Bains from Avalanche. They also played with CD @ CC.

It's true, the first game went to a draw with C/D having the better body count.
In the second game when XSV played from what was the preferred end by most teams and the end that produced 80% of the winners on that field they slapped C/D about for a couple of minutes befor hanging the flag.
When the last game started all the C/D players made it to there bunkers on the break with out loss and just locked the field down to take bodys before going for the win losing just two bodys in the process.

Kellys played some great ball and missed a 1/2 play off because of a reffing mistake on the final game of the play offs and had to play for third or forth.
They did not waste any time and won with the style we have come to expect from them in two quick and convincing victories.

Hey Bolter, ya know up until just recently I would have agreed with you but I am fast coming to the conclusion that two men can make the difference after watching these finals.
If the remainder of the team are competent then I think the introduction of players like Dave and Glen can (and do) make a team in this modern game of ours.

I don't think this is in any way an indictment of the modern game or any sort of criticism of CD because it isn't, it's more an observation on the nature of the modern game in that the 'domino' effect can and does play a huge role in how games unfold.
I think there is an article in there somewhere so you will more than likely see it next month but it makes things interesting if what I'm suggesting is right.
I will once again qualify what I am suggesting here in that, the remainder of players must have a sound technical ability but do not have to be great players to win a tournament which I venture to say, previous thinking would have had us believe.
Paintball has this unerring habit of throwing us these curve balls every now and then which makes it all the more exciting for all of us and means we can never rest on our laurels of understanding.

I'm with Robbo on this one. Thinking back to CC finals last month, the rest of the Bullets guys may not have even been there in the last two games. Oli Lang won both of those games pretty much by himself (no slur on the capability of the Bullets players).

Glenn and Dave were incredible. They definitely brought a lot of confidence to the CD players, a lot of field walking expertise and some outstanding paintball on the field. Take into account that they never received their luggage so ended up playing with whatever guns they could get their hands on. G7s G7 Cobras, Karnivore, DMCs etc.... They definitely made a huge difference on the field its undeniable. But hey two pro players hired for a pro team. And my CD homies played some solid ball.
