I don't fall into the category of having played but will be playing this year so have been looking into a budget for this myself so I'll post up what I think and hope it helps.

Entry fee works out about £85 each for a six man squad. Paint is a big variable as it depends on your style, how long the games are, etc... but potentially you will play 5 + 5 + 3 games (I think), so budget 500 a game and your on 6500 paint at £30 a box. So it looks just to turn up and walk on the field and play your looking at about £180.

Other logistical costs could include transport, food, overnight accomodation, beer, etc.

You will buy a ratburger or two. You will buy some of the lovely milkshakes. And you will will most deffo buy some bling! So you need to factor that into the equation as well.

Hope helpful.

entry fee = £500 per team,

so a 5man squad = £100 entry.

+ paint say 10 boxes at roughly £30 each = £300/5 = £60
= £160
or if you make finals say 12 boxes = 360/5
= £172
(+players pass which is 35 euros if you havent played allready)
all paint prices are estimates. depending on what paint vendors are there (i imagine dXs and RPS) the price may vary

budgeting paint at 500 a game is the pointless idea i've ever heard, because as a team you'll most defo be doing it by normal standard which is throw it all in, then divide it by the team. + if you budget paint and only take out a hopper and 3 pots then your boned come long point time.

oh and I do fall into the category of playing.

so its cheaper than i thought:cool:
it will be even cheaper if you can get on a field with French refs ,as you will be 1 for 1'd before you have emptied your hopper every game especially if playing a French team on said field.

Maybe I should have re-phrased this. Some games you shoot more, some you shoot less so you need to come up with an average in order to guestimate how much paint you may need, hence the 500 figure. Thanks for your understanding in your post Dave. Nice to see paintballers pulling together as one for the greater good of the paintball community.

EDIT: But nice to see our estimates are similair. Hopefully this will help Ali out with his budget.
