Well that's my stint as ultimate marshal for the M25 over with as i'm on holiday for the last leg. To be honest i'm a little gutted not to be at the event but no amount of persuding is gonna stop me getting on that plane
Back to the land of dreamzzzz........ i really had a good day today. No major whinges about the marshaling and so far the only complaints have been about the fields being a bit small and the netting.
Although it's technically not my department : With regards to the fields they were limited with space because as i recall at the last brickett wood leg there were only 3 fields and today there were 4. : The netting : i dont know how you can make it completely paintball proof. It does need to be looked into but if F1 can't stop people running on to the track during a race, despite a shed load of secuirty, maybe it's one of those things that you can never, ever eliminate. Not for the want of trying.
What i fail to understand is teams reluctance to fill in their insurance waivers. It's one those things that need to be filled in before a team can take to the field. No punter off on a jolly with his mates gets anywhere near a paintball gun before they have filled in their form and tournament players are not exempt!!
I did not recieve one complaint about any specific field or even a specific judge for that matter. I'm not saying that they didn't make mistake's but i told them at the meeting that i was not having another bashing on the boards from the 'everdisgruntled crew' and to get on top from game one. I added that we could be there till 6:30 if they didnt get games turned around. It was up to them but they would still only get the same money.
They responded well and we finished more or less to schedule and as i say no major complaints........as yet.
i'd like to thank them everyone of them and at the other legs as well for being out there in the middle.
What some players and you know who u r have got to be wary of now is the tower. I asked for it to be placed within the fields so that i could observe games. From there i managed to direct 3 1-4-1's
So when your playing next; look around, look down and then look up, cause someone is going to be watching
Lastly i hope everyone enjoys the last leg in august and my sincere wish is that someone (anyone) who has been playing the M25 makes an impact at Campaign cup a couple of weeks later and that they recognise where they laid that foundation
